I have other issues now other than the sides getting hot. The fan is not working and when you use the water dispenser, the water flow is slow and water is leaking on the floor from under the bottom. The sides are still hot, the compressor is real hot. It is cool inside.

Re: Fan not working and sides are still hot
For your water flow problem and leak; Check in back of the refrigerator bottom right side facing the back. You will see two plastic tubes, one is for the water dispenser and the other is for the ice maker. Check for a loose connection at that point for the water leak.

Getting warm around the door is OK but getting hot around door indicates a restriction of the airflow below your refrigerator. The compressor produces hot Freon that is pumped out the discharge side of compressor. On many refrigerators the gas goes to the yoder Condenser Loop first and then cooled by the condenser fan motor before going to the freezer section as a liquid.
Anything restricting that airflow will cause the yoder loop to get hotter. Example a defective condenser fan, dusty conditions below refrigerator or room temperatures way above normal for a kitchen or room inside your home. Insure fan stays on when compressor runs because a defective condenser fan does not always stop when defective. Most refrigerators work best with room temperatures in mid 70's to middle 80's. Making sure that airflow is good, fan's stay on with compressor and room temperatures stay in the normal range is important to keep those temperatures lower in the yoder loop. If helpful please rate this solution, Thanks Sea Breeze
you need to fix the fan down by compressor as it cools the cond coils and causes proper orp of cmpressor . if it not running the comp runs too hot and does not pump the refergent and may be shutting of on overload . the high tempt between the doors will be less with fan working . but some warm tempt is normal .. mm
This could be 2 separate problems or a control board issue. First I would check that the condenser fan is running, coils are cleaned. Here is a link to check the condenser fan http://appliancehelponline.com/referhotonsides.html If the fan checks out good more likely a control board failure.
Hello sir, hi, try to check if the side exhaust fan is blowing out reasonable amount of hot air, if not you side exhaust fan is dirty, it may need cleaning, If the exhaust fan has reasonable amount of hot air blowing out, then you may need to buy laptop cooler, inquire about it at your laptop dealer.
I recently had the same issue of the sides/center becoming hot on my kscs25inss01. The cooling fan would not come on. I kept unplugging and waiting for a while then re-plugging in to get the fan to work for a while (it would run about 12 hours then get hot again, it also takes 7 minutes for fan to come on after plugged in). I also placed a small box fan at the rear vent pulling the air out. I ordered the contoller board and replaced it, now, the fan comes on and it is staying cool.
I removed panel in lower back,
removed inverter box next to compressor,
removed gounding wire on frame,
then removed the controller box - metal box along side of refrigerator
Popped out old board ,
moved the center jumper from old board to new board in same location,
and plugged everything in and sealed it back up in reverse order.
Hi, When that strip gets hot, it is a sign the temperatures are not cold enough. Put a thermomitor in the freezer. You should get a reading of 0 to 5 above. If not, let me know and we can try and get you through this.
I have this same issue. The fan is not working properly. On the back bottom right of the unit is where the fan is located. Take off the card board panel and the fan is right there. Just by taping the fan with a screw driver the fan started running again (and the center cooled down quickly). It worked fine for a month, but has stopped again. I am going to replace the motor, hopefully that will solve the issue.
hi this is due to the fan settings in BIOS Program has been not correctly mentioned,so u cant find the fan setting in BIOS Program reset the BIOS Program it will helps u to activate the fan setting.when u got the fan setting u can solve the fan problem in ur laptop. In ur laptop fan is giving u the problem but the BIOS setting is creates the problem reset BIOS Pgm and then u can fix the fan problem without changing the fan again.
hi thanks for the question is the compressor running hot if its not hot and the fan by the compressor is running the problem is that the compressor is not starting check the compressor you might need a new start relay mounted on the compressor thanks the appliance doc
