IGoogle - Check this Google lovers

iGoogle

www.google.com/ig Not too long ago, iGoogle was better known as Google Personalized Homepage. iGoogle lets you create a customized homepage that you can set as your browser's default page with all you want to see when you fire it up.

Add The Weather Gadget
One of the gadgets you can add to the iGoogle page is Weather, which gives you a forecast for the next few days, along with other information like wind speed and humidity. The Weather gadget is usually on by default; if it isn't, click on Add Stuff. Here you'll find Calendar under the popular section. Click on “Add it now”. Go back to the iGoogle main page. Click the drop-down button under Weather, and click Edit Settings. Select UK as the Country/Region and choose your city. Click Add and then Save.

Change The Theme
Google recently added theme support for iGoogle. Google also gives you with a nice bunch of themes to choose from. Click on the “Select theme” link. Choose one of the themes and click Save. Certain themes change with the weather in your region, so you might have to enter your city name.

Move Gadgets Around
Gadgets can be moved around the page. This means you can have the more important gadgets on top and the less important ones below. Moving gadgets can be done by clicking the title bar of a gadget and dragging to its destination. The gadget will automatically dock alongside the other gadgets.

Make Your Own Gadgets
Google gives you a base to start off with your own little Gadgets. To add your own Gadgets, click on Add Stuff. Then, click on “Create your own gadget”. You will come to a page with an option to choose between some seven presets. Click on a preset suitable for the Gadget you’re planning on making. Enter the information for that Gadget and click on “Preview gadget” to get an idea of what it will look like. If you're pleased with the results, click on “Create gadget”.

Add A New Tab
If you reach a point when there are too many gadgets in your iGoogle page, you can choose to put the less important ones in a new tab. Click on the “Add a tab” link. You will be asked to enter a name for the tab. Once the tab is created, you can click on Add Stuff to add new Gadgets to that tab. You can also move Gadgets from one tab to another by clicking the title bar of the Gadget and dragging it into the tab name.

Add Feeds To iGoogle

iGoogle lets you do some basic feed reading as well. The steps are similar to adding Gadgets. Click on Add Stuff. Click on “Add by URL” next to the search button. Enter the URL for the feed and click Add. Next, click on Close, and go to the main iGoogle Page. You will find the feed listing there. You can change the number of news items displayed by clicking on the drop-down and selecting “Edit settings”. Use the drop-down to change the number of news items and click Save.

View Gadget Source
Anyone can view the source code for Gadgets. Click on the drop-down in the title bar of a Gadget and click “About this gadget”. A new page with comments from users will be displayed. Click on the “View source” link to view the source for the Gadget. On the right panel, lists of similar gadgets are displayed for you to choose from.

Make iGoogle Your Startup Page in Microsoft Outlook

If you are a Microsoft Outlook user that regularly uses iGoogle as your dashboard, have you ever thought about combining the two? It's nearly trivial to add your iGoogle page to Outlook and make it the startup page.

Create a new folder by right-clicking anywhere in the folder tree and choosing "New Folder"

Give the folder a relevant name, something like iGoogle works.

Now right-click on the new folder and choose Properties, and then on the Home Page tab, check the box for "Show home page by default for this folder" and put this into the address box:

http://www.google.com/ig

Of course you can use any web page as your startup page, not just iGoogle.

At this point you should be able to see your iGoogle page by just clicking on the folder.

Set iGoogle as the Default Startup Page

Open up the Options panel through Tools \ Options on the menu, and then choose the Advanced Options button on the Other tab.

You'll see a setting for "Startup in this folder" with a Browse button next to it. Click that button and choose the iGoogle folder as your startup page.

Now when you startup Outlook, you'll be taken directly to your iGoogle dashboard (you do have to login the first time).

Lost my home page.i wish goole to be my home page. it has changed yo bt. why

My home page is igoogle...and I've loved it. BUT, Google is dropping igoogle November 1st and I'll have to figure out something else. It is somewhat suggested that igoogle home page users switch to Google Chrome page and set it up as a home page... and Google doesn't really even seem very excited about THAT. Hmm.. right now, the idea of setting something up with Google Chrome impresses me about as much as kissing my own sister. I'm thinking mostly about switching to Yahoo.... but there are a few others available.. You might want to check this out... http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/6-great-alternatives-igoogle.htm Good luck!!

I do not how you make voice chat from my computer

  • Download the voice and video chat plug-in, quit all open browser windows, and install the plug-in.
  • Sign in to Gmail, iGoogle or orkut.
  • In your chat list, select the contact you want to call. If they have a camera icon next to their name, you can make a voice or video call to them; just click the camera icon to place a video call or the phone icon to place a voice call.
If your friend doesn't have a camera next to their name in your chat list, you can invite them to download the voice and video chat plug-in from the Video & more menu in a chat window. Even if your friend doesn't have a video camera, you can still have a voice chat or a 1-way video chat.

Go to the Tools" tab on IE; scroll down to Internet Options and left click. In the top of the Internet Options window, you can change your home page to what ever you like. Erase the www.google.com or whatever is in there and replace it. Try www.msn.com, then click apply.
