True commercial cooler model GDM-49-LD. Been fine for several years. Water now accumulating in cooler floor. Origin seems to be back wall dead center. Any suggestions ?

drain tube runs from dead center of the coil into the back wall and down under the unit where it drains into a pan and is evaporated. Sounds like just a blocked drain tube. The easiest way to clear this is to take the bottom front grill off and look for the drain tube which is typically just strapped to the top of the opening suspended over the pan. Use a wet vac to pull out the sludge or some kind of pressure to blow it back up into the cabinet. Problem with blowing back is that dirt and water are going to blow into the cabinet and/or coil. taking the hose off of the interior coil is difficult and you can break the plastic connector so I don't recommend that to anyone.

On GE's site they have the following.
Side by side refrigerators:
The usual evidence of a clogged drain in a side by side is the discovery of ice under the bottom basket in the freezer compartment, in addition to a puddle of water on the floor when it runs out the freezer door. Some side-by-side models have the defrost drain hole located on the back wall of the freezer, just up from where the floor slopes up to the back, in the center. In some models it is behind a plastic panel held in place by a screw. Remove screw and panel, and the drain hole will be visible.
Flush out the drain hole with a solution of 1 tsp. baking soda and 2 cups of hot tap water in a meat/turkey (bulb) baster. When clear, you will hear water running down into the drain pan below.

A Whirlpool Master Tech replied to a similar question on their site with the following.
"You will need to remove everything from the freezer and then remove the rear interior wall to gain access to the drain hole ."

There is a huge puddle of water under the front of the fridge ,this unit doesn't have an ice maker what could this be ?

The drain is clogged. You will have to remove the back wall of the freezer to access the drain. There is a hole under the coils, that is th drain. Remove the ice on top of the drain and clean the drain out by forcing hot water down the drain with a turkey baser untill water flows freely. Then mix baking soda with water and pour it down the drain. http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/refrigerator-leaking.html

The defrost cycle seems to stay on too long-ice already made will start melting & then refreeze into 1 big chunk. Eventually the "melt" will build up in the bottom of the freezer & will eventually...

if think your defrost cycle is ok . there is a defrost terminator that controls the heater at 50 deg in the back of freezer , the problem is the water delivery tube is iceing oven and causing water to run down the back of freezer wall . change the tube to newer style. it will be open on the top side . they work better. and the water valve may be leaking through. and may have to be changed .. ,,

MZD2766 GE - A puddle of ice forms at the bottom of the freezer

Sounds like the defrost drain is cloged. There is a hole at the bottom of the freezer behind the back wall. if this is cloged then the water that is suppost to drain there will overflow and freez.

Water in wood's fridge

If you have the wire metal shelf model, there is a wrap around cooling plate (back and two sides) at the top of the inside. The frost that forms on this while it is running melts off after the compressor stops and the water runs down, into the drip channel, and out the drain hole at the center of the channel on the back wall. Clean out that hole so the water will flow out instead of down the walls to the bottom of your refrig.
If you have the glass shelf model, you have to remove the metal cover at the bottom back of the refrig and clean out the defrost drain hole located there.

Wall a/c is leaking water down log wall and puddling on floor.

When you sealed the holes outside, you trapped the water inside. The unit is designed to let the water run to the bottom of the pan and then go out the holes outside. Try unplugging one of them and see if that fixes the problem. Hope this helps.

Water puddling in bottom of freezer and freezing

the drain in the back of the freezer is probably full of ice. you need to pull out panel and use heat from a blow dryer to unplug the drain. then take a small gauge copper wire long enough to extend into the drain a couple of inches and loop it around the black heating element then when it goes yhrough defrost it should keep this from reaccuring

Replace the defrost heater thermostat in back of freezer wall. You can reach it from the open front freezer area.Just take loose the back wall plate(s).Youll see it (maybe under alot of ice)clipped onto heater coil. You should be ok now. Please leave a rating!!

Water leaking onto floor

unplug it again , sounds like your drain line has frozen, instaead of defrost water going down the tube and under refrig in drain pan, becuse tube is frozen its draining into freezer compartment and eventually spilling out through front of unit. totally defrost unit and behind back wall of freezer youll see a metal trough designed to catch water, in the center (under the ice is gonna be the drain hole, pour boiling water down until it runs freely
