Question about Proview PL926WBi 19" LCD Monitor
I have a 19' Proview LCD display. Recently it startet turning off by itself after working for 4-5 sec.We connected it to another pc and the display acted the same way - it worked for 4-5 sec, then it turns off. We have to press the on/off buton to turn it on, works for 4-5 sec and then goes black again. My Proview fv926W just did the same thing on May 22, 2008. I purchased the monitor April of 2007. I tried using it with my other desktop and it does the same thing. It starts up and goes black after about 5 seconds. The blue power light stays fully lit. If you turn the power button on and off it stays on for 5 seconds. The screen is pinkish when you first turn it on. Looks like we all got screwed on this one.
The power inverter is the problem and the only way to fix it is to replace the board. It was a poor design and my Proview 19" experienced the same screen issues as those previously stated. You'll pay $25 for shipping and up to $65 in repair costs. The kicker with Proview is the lousy 1 year warranty. I threw my Proview away and purchased a Hanspree 19" with a 3 year warranty.
There is a 3rd party repair facility in TX that specializes in this type of repair for a flat rate of $75 but that doesn't include your cost to ship and insure it. Another possibilty is to buy the invereter yourself and break open the back and replace it. If you can find the correct part it should run you about $35.
I rank Proview monitors in the same category as the Koss Home Theatre, which is JUNK!

No solution , I have the same issues . It's about a year and a half old , started not coming on then it does , now it shuts off no power light nada , then it does come on , not happy with this product at all .
Screen is black ,no defects with that .
I have the FV926w/ 19" wide TFTLCD Monitor .

If the screen is pinkish chances are the panel is defective.Should follow-up with Company Proview and do some correspondence.
