Stick some neoprene-type patches on the inside of the body either side of the drum- you'll see where from the wear marks. Use super-glue to ensure lasting satisfaction.

SOURCE: banging noise on spin cycle

My beko washing machine was making a racket like this. What it was was the large blocks of concrete bolted to the drum had come loose. Solution was to get a 13mm socket with a bar and extension and tighten them up really hard as far as I could manage. THen the probelm dissapeared no more banging. Worth a try if your has similar blocks attached to outer drum

Hi, it could be a few things either drum bearings are needing renewed or drum tension / shocker is not functioning properly.

Washing machine knocking.

Does the drum wobble quite a bit or does it look normal? If it's wobbling it could be the drum casing knocking the internal structure. Might need a new drum spring if this is the case

Washing machine making a knocking sound

On this washer the problem is the washer drum rear bearing is worn out, a common problem and often caused by not using the correct detergent for a front loader, detergent is very corrosive, so special types are used in front loads to prevent soap residue corroding the drum bearing. Once the bearing go out then the struts that cushion the drum during the spin quickly follow.

Ultima extra wma64 drum is loose and rattling

Your bearings have broken up in the drum. This is a very difficult DIY fix since it involves stripping the front from the machine, taking out the drup assembly, splitting it, knocking the centre spindle free and then knocking out the machine pressed bearings and replacing them.

It CAN be done by an ameture. I do it occasionally when I am repairing machines and I constantly moan about the fact that I really need to build or buy a tool to knock the bearing out. Despite the fact that the new bearings will cost about £20 ($30) ish, this is a nightmare job. Your local repair man will probably come and fit a refurbished drum for you (Then take yours away and refurbish that for his stock when he has time).

If you have never done anything like this, my best advice is that this is NOT the time to start!

Get a quote, then decide if you want the machine repaired, or to go buy a new one I'm afraid

Washing machine works but occasionally makes noise occasionally at end of cycle, when spinning etc. I suspect a missing sock may have found it's way through the gap and is in the drum housing, out...

Clothing cannot get into the drum housing. Noises which occur during the spin cycle suggest that the drum is being thrown of balance during the spin cycle. A possible cause of this is that the bracket which holds the drum to the spindle is partially broken. This bracket consists of 3 or 4 arms and eventually one or more arms will crack and break (this is a result of the interaction between the steel drum, aluminium bracket and electricty, which weakens aluminium over a period of time). If the machine is not examined and repaired, then the drum noise will get worse and the drum will start to knock & rub against other parts, especially the water heating element and this will result in a more costly repair.

Makes a loud knocking noise

There are (usually) three rollers that the drum rotates on. Once they get old they wear down or get out of shape. perhaps one even has broken. You must remove the front of the machine, then remove the drum by pulling forward. They will be mounted against the rear wall. This being said, not knowing what type dryer you have. But I do think this is your problem. You can purchace your own parts at www.Repairclinic.com . Of course unplug the machine before servicing or checking. Good luck

Indesit widl 126-problem with the drum, moving back and forth to much and noisy.

It would seem that the bearings go on this model, which causes the inner drum to knock and bang against the outer during spin. If you continue to use the machine without replacing both sets of bearings, it will cause irreparable damage and the machine will need to be replaced.
