Dim light on my sony vaio.

I have tried going the computer settings to fix it but nothing works. How much would it cost to get the light fixed.

ahh....and did you try Fn key and F5?

The screen in dim to preserve the life of the battery. When you place the cable in to your laptop does it light up???

Depress the "FN" button on your keyboard (3 to the left of spacebar) and at the same time press F6 key or it may be another key F2,F3 etc until your background light illuminates.

heres the solution! if ur fn + F5 key doesn't work...
1. go to start
2. go to control panel
3. click "power options" has a pic of a battery
4. click "change plan settings" under "balanced"
5. change "adjust display brightness"

My VAIO also dims if i leave it alone for 1 or 2 mins or so.

And if i use the touch pad for a quick swish then the dim returns to brightest state. Fn + Brightness adjustment won't work.

And the power management appears normal
(Running at max all time)
