Question about Canon MP830 All-In-One Printer

Can not connect printer to computer every thing plug in

I have the icon on screen but if I go to copy it won't copy, don't know how to fax because I don't have a book with the MP830

My scanner is plugged in but when I try to scan a document it says my scanner is not responding


Hello,

If it is your first time using your printer, then you need to install the driver for it to work.

If you have used your printer without any problem before then, there are two possible reasons why your printer/scanner is having that issue:

1. Connection error
2. Driver problem

First thing's first. Restart your computer and your printer. there are times that computers and printers just need a restart for it to work. Yes, it's strange but it's how things work with machines. They need rebooting to work smoothly.


If rebooting your computer and printer won't fix the problem. Here are the things that you can do.

1. Connection error:
.
a. Turn off your printer and turn it back on. Try scanning, if no go.. proceed to step b.

b. Unplug your printer from your computer and unplug it's power cord and press and hold the printer's power button to 5-8 seconds to completely drain the power. Plug it back in to the wall outlet leaving the connection between your computer and the printer still unplugged. wait until your printer completely turns on. Plug it to your computer and do the scanning process.

If all steps above don't work, then you need to check the driver.

Uinstall the driver of your computer by going to the control panel. After uinstalling it, then reinstall it by using the dvd that came with your printer. Follow the on-screen instructions and try scanning. It should work.

I have a Lexmark mode lX3550. What do I have to do to make it fax?


Make sure: • The printer is connected to a computer that is equipped with a fax modem. • The computer is connected to a working phone line. • Both the printer and the computer are turned on. • The Lexmark Fax Software is installed on your computer.
Sending a fax using the software You can scan a document to the computer and then fax it to someone using the software. 1 Load an original document facedown on the scanner glass. 2 From the desktop, double-click the Lexmark Imaging Studio icon. 3 From the left pane of the Welcome screen, click Fax. 4 Select the Document option. 5 Click Start. 6 Enter the recipient information, and then click Next. Note: A fax number can include up to 64 numbers, commas, periods, and/or these symbols: * # + - ( ). 7 Enter the cover page information, and then click Next. 8 If there are any additional documents that you want to send with your fax, add these now, and then click Next. 9 To send your fax: • Immediately-Select the Send now option. • At a scheduled time: a Select the "Delay sending until" option. b Set a time and date. 10 If you want a paper copy of your fax, select Print a copy of your fax. 11 Click Send.

My lexmark x7170 all in one won't copy or scan starts to but stops


It could be a scanner hardware problem. Try to unplug the printer from the power source to reset it. Wait at least 10 seconds and then re-plug the printer back into the power. If problem continues, please don't hesitate to contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

I can't show ink detail. So, i don't know what time can i change cartridge. I wanna to know how to solve this problem. thanks


1 Check the back of your computer to make sure that the printer is appropriately connected to the computer and is plugged in. If the printer is not plugged into the computer, find the printer jack on the back of the computer and plug it in before you move on to the next step.

2 Click on the "Start" menu button which is located on bottom left hand corner of your screen. Click on the "Settings" bar and notice that a list of functions pop up to the left of the settings button. Click on the control panel icon.

3 Look for the printer/fax icon in the control panel window. Double click on the printer icon.

4 Find the icon for your printer in the opened window and right click on the icon. Now click on the "Preferences" option.

5 Look for the menu box pop up with tabs near the top of the box. Click on the "Services" tab.

6 Click on "Service this device." You will find the button on the Services menu that you just activated.

7 Click on the estimated ink level tab and a graphic will appear indicating how much ink is left in the cartridge.

Do the below steps.
First of all you have to prepare your printer drivers. This must be CD or DVD disc which you already have from printer manufacturer or supplier. If don"t you can check for the latest drivers on manufacturer website.
Now let"s start. Click on Start button, next Control Panel and the window shown below will appear at the screen. Please note the window below is in new Windows XP style. If you like old classic style of Control panel click on top left in task pane. Next click on Printers and Other Hardware Icon or Printer and Faxes in classic view.

I cant scan a document in my computer


During a normal installation of the HP All-in-One software, the following events occur:

1. The HP All-in-One software CD-ROM runs automatically.
2. The software installs.
3. Files are copied to your computer.
4. You are requested to connect the HP All-in-One to your computer.
5. A green OK and check mark appear on an installation wizard screen.
6. You are requested to restart your computer.
7. The Fax Setup Wizard (Windows) or Fax Setup Utility (Mac) runs.
8. The registration process runs.

If any of these things did not occur, there is most likely to be a problem with the installation. If the essential icons (Scan Picture, Scan Document, and Send a Fax) do not appear, your installation might not be complete.

If your installation is incomplete, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall the software. Do not simply delete the HP All-in-One program files from your hard drive. Make sure to remove them properly using the uninstall utility
provided in the HP All-in-One program group.

My computer and printer are both all plugged in and on my computer screen it says my printer is printing, but it isn't actually printing :S please help!!


Reboot computer (leave printer disconnected)
Go to Printers and Faxes and locate the printer icon. Right-click on the icon and choose Cancel All Documents.

Turn off computer, re-connect the printer then turn on the computer

Communication problem


unplug the power adapter (**the black Box) from the printerDisconnect the Printer from the computer and then click on start ----> control Panel --------> Printers and Faxes. In printers and Faxes you will find the printer Icon Dell AIO printer , make sure the Status is Ready and there is a Check mark on the printer, right click on the printer Icon and then select Cancel all documents restart the computer and then power on the printer connect the printer to the computer and then try printing.

perfrom these steps and do lemme know if it helps.

No printing...?


Make sure after you click 'print' that the printer you are printing from is not the 'fax'. I had this happen too... just a suggestion ;)
