Thanks, I had unit set up but was knocked out in thunderstorm. All functions work except fax through USB connection but will no longer connect to network or phone. How is the Line Interface Unit (LIU) removed on an HP Officejet 7310 series all-in-one? I think this needs to be replaced. I have requested this info from HP and will post any replies received but still would appreciate any info from forum members.

I believe storm knocked out my line-interface unit. Where can I purchase a replacment part, and how do I get to it? HP has been no help but to offer an "upgrade service" for a newer unit.

How do I set up a wireless printer. I am on a wireless network now. How do I make my printer wireless??

The HP Officejet 7310 has an optional bluetooth wireless adapter. If you purchased the option, you will need bluetooth connectivity at your computer end. Alternatively, you could purchase a third party wireless adapter.
Other than that, you will need to connect your printer to your router/wireless network then all computers will be able to print wirelessly to it through the router.
Hope this helps.

Our HP OfficeJet 7310 is giving the error message, "Phone off-hook". We have tried restarting it.

I had this same problem. I changed the phone cord to a 2 conductor DSL phone cord. Problem solved. Try it. It should work for you.

I just got a Dell computer with windows Vista and my hp officejet 7310 doesn't have software for Vista

Hello,

First thing is to go to this page:

HP OfficeJet 7310 Support

(Bookmark this page for future use.)

Select Software & Driver Downloads. Then select your operating system. (Vista) A list of availble software will be given. Click on the name of the software to download.

When the download window comes up, select Save and direct it to save to your desktop. When the download is complete, close the window and any other open programs.

Prepare your printer: power ON, ink IN, paper IN, telephone line IN (if used). DO NOT CONNECT YOUR USB CABLE.

Run (double-click) the file on your desktop that you downloaded. When promted by the software connect the USB cable and follow any other instructions. That should get you going.

Note: There is also a link on the download page to order a CD if so desired. You could also burn one with that desktop file on it.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Problems connecting to printer

The Officejet 7310 does not have wireless capability, this was a feature for the Officejet 7410. If your 7310 is connected via wired LAN to a wireless router but the computer does not find it try assigning an IP address manually. Make sure the IP address for the printer is on the same subnet as your laptop or other wireless devices.

Also, if you are using Vista the original drivers will not work, you will need to download updated drivers from HP's website here.

Hp office jet 7310 all in one printer problem

When you install your printer, did you install the driver first ??? If not, unplugged the USB cable from the printer and uninstall the printer of your computer and restart your PC.

Re-install the driver first and connect your USB cable when the software prompt you to do so....
