Question about Computers & Internet

My pc is very, very, very slow!!!

Logging-on takes a long time, when I play any game on my pc, it often hangs or crashes.! Even browsing on different websites takes too long. This pc used to be very nice to work on but now, it has become so boring I could throw it thru our window!

First, check that your RAM is in good order (physically) and has adequate capacity to run your system.

MemTest86+ can be downloaded from here:

http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

Note: Using the minimum RAM is definitely not good enough! Programs which launch at startup can consume the total memory and this will cause the problems that you are having - you have probably installed several programs (and/or games) which run at startup which are now taking up more of your RAM than you were previously using.

Note: a Windows XP PC runs best with 512 Mb of RAM (not the 128 Mb that is recommended) but if you are playing games then I would suggest about 1 Gb of RAM to be safe.

Next I suggest that you run a full system scan for viruses and malware - as Trojans can cause this sort of problem too.

Good luck.

Slow web pages could be the result of dns server timeouts. Your router is probably getting the dns servers from your Internet provider. (Logging on to the router should tell you the routers dns server IP address).
The PC's could be getting their dns server IP address either from your Server or the 2700HGV router. Disconnecting your server from the network and connecting a PC to the router should test this premise.
Take your server out of equation and see if Internet access and webpages speeds up. later test your speed here ScanmySpeed.com

Why will my ccomputer reboot but only when I am on the web watching music videos what is wrong with it?

I think is is DDR 1 based motherboard, need more information about your system like how much memory installed, which operating system you are using, Is it causing only for Internet video or any HD formatted movie you play in your system? What happens if you play large or heavy games or lunch large software which needs much memory? How log you are facing this problem?

Note: If you installed Ram about 256/512MB, and use programs in background at a time and try to brows internet It may happens, It may happens even if memory if defected, if your browse crashed and hang the os (most time windows). One other thing is it also can be happen in case of your graphics card or damaged motherboard! (Be sure about RAM first and operating system (is not virus effected) first).
you can mail me at software_ss@yahoo.com for further query.

Hp a705w upgraded to 2gb ram, 160gb hd (sata) cpu running at 2.93gh,\r\nshould be a beast. runns slow and video streaming has slight freeze. HELP. Welcom291

the specs is already good for browsing and some sort of document editing. however, if you wish to play games or do video editing, i suggest you get a good video card. 1gb video card will be good. Even if you have a good amount of ram but your video processing memory is shared, it will definitely slow your computer.

Hi, I have an Acer Desjtop Aspire X1800 running Windows 7 64 bit. It has 4GB RAM, and 2.50Ghz processor, with Intel core2 quad Q8300. HD is 916GB. You would think this kind of setup wouldn't be prone...

Do a Crtl-Alt-Del and Select Task Manager. Look at the Processes and notice
which one is using up all your CPU time. A Virus or Malware/Spyware etc...
may take control of your PC and slow it down to a crawl. If everything looks
OK, then suspect your hardwares: DVD or Hard Drive(s). If one of the device
(mostly the Hard Drive) has an interface problem, as the CPU tries to access
it but has difficulties doing so, it will keep trying to access it again and again,
thus chewing up all the CPU time.
If you can't figure what it is, I suggest using one small hard drive only and do
a clean complete Format and Windows Installation.

When i play online games why is it so slow

You are right when you say it's really slow when you play games online, 1. The Game server is accessing by you through wires and network devices, so this makes the games slow. If the game is installed in your pc, there's should be no speed problem, 2. Network bandwidth will be accumulated by the game when you run the program, so don't take tension,... we are facing the same problem and it's just normal. There's nothing different. Good luck

My pc crashes randomly.

Go into the Event Viewer and see what kind of errors are reported there. Instructions here and here. Let us know what error codes you find.
Did you delete Edata or uninstall it. You should be using the uninstall command from Programs & Features, or you're going to jam up your system.
I'd say it's time to do some maintenance. Clean out your temp files by running disk cleanup, then scan your system files for corruption by following these instrucitons.
That may take a while, but it's worth it if your games run smoothly and don't hang, isn't it?
Then get back to us with the results, and we'll take it from there...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
