I do not know the exact number but I get a fals paper jam reading on our laser printer here at work. We lift the lid, close the lid and jam goes away, but later to return is there a way to fix this problem

Drives and software settings. Lasers are very sensitive to paper type and temp as you know. And if it has many miles on it, ya all those things are due to be replaced I bet. I never pay more than $10 for a used laser if that. Someone ran 50,000 sheets through them usually,
Symptom: Unable to reach Printer from local network or Printer falling off network and needs to be rebooted before being able to print
Cause: NIC Firmware has issue with WINS Communication.
Resolution: Install OkiLAN8300e Firmware 4.06 (C5500/C5800) or 4.55 (C6100) update using Oki LPR Utility
try cleaning the LED heads. These are located in the lid of the printer, they are facing you when you lift the lid up. They form the latent image on the drums and any dirt on them will give the symptoms you describe.
