Re: says i need to reformat
There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but it will be "good as new" after that. The following procedures will erase all songs on the player. To erase from the computer: Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself. Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything. -Tha Mp3 Doctor

There are two things, one is called "Reformat" and one is called "Reset". What Reformat does, it takes the electronic and deletes and redoes the settings. What Reset does, is just Resets the power. SO all you need to do is take a safety-pin and use the sharp point to press the button in the Reset hole on the side of the player. After doing that, wait 30 seconds and then you may turn it on again. Try It!
If you are still afraid, you may remove the SD Card and then Reset/Reformat.
Open the compartment at the bottom of your unit (it slides out and is held on with a little bendy piece), push the black piece (SD) slightly, and it will bounce out. If the black piece is screwed in, just screw the screw out, and do the same thing.
I can at least tell you how to reformat it. Go to http://www.tgegroup.com/en/support/download.htm and use the correct firmware/driver link. It is going to be in the RAR compression format. If you don't have something that can decompress RAR formats, you can get the free program called autounpack (just google it). After you get the file decompressed and the program installed, you can run the program to update your firmware. There is a box you can check to reformat your player as part of that process. Hope that helps a little.
