No, no other codes! I can barely feel some cool air in the freezer, but nothing up top.

What color is the test button?

I have a LFC20740ST that does the same thing...the fan runs, the compressor gets unbelievably hot....and no cooling in freezer or fridge. I can't feel any air movement with the freezer or fridge.

If you just bought reforbushed, it should still be in warrentee. Yes you could have a leak, but if this was the problem before the owners originally, It could be many things. The capulary tube could be restructed. Or the compressor valves that are only reeds could either loose or faulty. The only way to verify this is to open the compressor side and check the pressure right off the compressor. Just because the compressor is new doesn"t mean it can't be faulty.
If the Compressor doesn't cycle properly, check the coil that plugs into the side of the compressor. This acts as a capacitor **** switch to start the Compressor in place of a capacitor. It could also be faulty.

Try putting it in test mode. Easiest way is to take cover off of board and look for little test button. Press once and fans and compressor should come on. Press twice the damper will close. press three times will go into defrost, ( only if it is cold in freezer) otherwise comes out of test mode. Press 4th time and comes out of test mode.
Do you have any error codes displayed?

I am a different person with the same problem the compressor kicks on ,the light is on but it doesnt get cold it does seem like the fan at the top isnt working the one in the middle is thank you

The compressor is running, that is a good sign. If you notice any cooling that is not a good sign. Even with the fan not running , the evaporator should have produce some cooling. Could it be that you are a condenser fan running? well, the compressor makes a distinct sound when it runs and you need to confirm that is running and not just the condenser fan.
Firstly- If you confirm that the condenser fan is running; that is, if there is one, that is good. Secondly- Check and confirm that the compressor is running Thirdly- If there is an evaporator fan inside the unit, check and confirm that is running.
If all checks okay and there is no cooling, the refrigerant might have escaped through a leak, and there will not be any cooling. You can extrapolate from my troubleshooting steps to diagnose the wine cooler problem.
Good luck

The divider between fridge and freezer is very hot. How can it be cooled down

Clean the coils at the bottom front , behind the bottom kick plate AND pull the refrig out and remove the panel covering the compressor . Once removed , check that the cooling fan ( condensor fan motor ) is not blocked and is running as the compressor runs .

Turn thermostat on, cooling fans kick in, i can feel compressor with my hand moving but no cooling inside freezer or fridg

Hi, you say the fan in the freezer kicks on? You also have a fan located by your compressor and coil which is the condenser fan motor and condenser coil. This fan must also be running when the compressor is on.Make sure that the coil down below is clean on the front of it as it draws air across this coil to keep the internal head pressures down. Check all of these things. The small copper line coming off the compressor, discharge line should be almost hot. The larger of the lines is the suction line and will be very cool, almost condensating . If not, you may have developed a small freon leak which will cause these problems. Make sure that everything I said is working and clean, and if the small motor in the rear bottom is not running, you can get a new one at a appliance parts house and 2 wires will replace it. Do all of this and keep me posted.

Fan runs. compressor buzzes when it tries to kick in. buzzes about 15 sec. then kicks out. fan keeps running . no cooling because comp.isnt pumping. model# msd 2456ge

I believe you are having a compressor start component failure problem. It is best to not leave the refrigerator plugged in while this is happening, as the problem could also damage the compressors internal overload. I could tell you the part numbers, but to not check the compressor windings first would be a mistake. If you would like my assistance let me know, Sea Breeze

Not cooling, compressor and condensor coil fan not running.

It sounds like you may have bad starting components on your compressor. I would check your condenser fan motor for 120v. Or try to put a small box fan behind the ref blowing directly on the compressor to aid in cooling it. If the compressor kicks in then you know the problem is with your condenser fan motor and not your compressor. If the start components are bad you will usually hear a clicking noise from the compressor every 10-15 mins or so.

Hope this helps _MJ_

if the condenser fan ( the one near the compressor) is not running and the compressor is running, then that's not good. try to lubricate the bushings of the fan and see if it would run. feel the blade if it turns smoothly. if it's sticcky, then there is your problem.

it should be running the same time as the compressor. if the compressor stops, the fan should stop too.

tnx 4using fixya,
