Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

We have a Kenwood KDW8ST2A Dishwasher which is about a month old. The other day we had to pull it out from under the worktop because something rolled under it. When we put it back and went to use it later that day, we got an E1 error code appear and it's been like that since. We pulled it back out to make sure that we hadn't accidently pulled or loosened any of the pipes. We have the manual which does tell us what the error means but it doesn't tell us how to fix it. I'm sure it must be something we did when pulling it out. Can anyone help.

    Exactly the same problem

had exactly the same problem since we bought the dishwasher, sometimes it works more often than not it doesnt!!

Any solution to the problem yet anyone?

Problem solved. Turns out that when we pushed the dishwasher back, it caused one of the pipes to bend meaning that the water couldn't come through. (It didn't actually look like any of the pipes were bent but when we pulled it out and turned it on, it worked so we figured that had to be the problem). It was a little bit difficult to fix because everytime we pushed the dishwasher back in, the same thing kept happening. In the end we had to take off the back of one of the kitchen cupboards so that one person could keep the pipes all straight and pull them through to the back of the kitchen units without crushing or bending them as the other person slowly pushed the dishwasher back in place. The problem is now solved and the dishwasher has been working perfectly ever since.

We have a kenwood kdw12st3a dishwasher - ever since we have had it, it has been nothing but trouble. It constantly flashes e4 so we have tipped it and drained the water out of the bottom (as advised) and...

To clear the fault you need to remove the two baskets from the dishwasher.

Slide it out from under the worktop and lean it forward to about 45 degrees.

If it is already full of water, turn on the power whilst pushing the programme button, this sets up a pump out program

Kenwood Slimline Dishwasher KDW8ST2A

I have a Kenwood Kdw8st2a and have been constantly plagued by the E4 overfill error.

Lifting the front of the dishwasher and tilting it backwards seemed to clear the E4 error only for it to come back after the next wash.

I found eventually that the connection to the U bend under the sink was too narrow and was almost blocked hence the dishwasher was not emptying properly.

I disconnected the dishwasher waste pipe and ran the waste into a bucket for about 6 cycles and it worked fine.

Eventually drilled through the kitchen wall and fitted a lower direct waste pipe to the drain. Overkill maybe buit it hasn't done an E4 since.

I had E4. Initially couldn't get it to clear.

In desperation, switched it off, turned it on it side and drained it onto the floor.

The E4 disappeared and the dishwasher is working normally.
