Bought a toshiba state of the art 42 inch tv a few months ago barely used it.
During our Christmas Dinner yesterday TV died. So today we phoned Toshiba Canada and tried to get a repair person to come and look at it in Vancouver Area.
Now you think it will be easy, not for Toshiba! First every repair office they gived us are closed some till January 2nd, then one of the offices and the only one opened answered and said we only fix computers not tv's!
So we get upset and phone for the last count how many times them back. Each time we think we are talking to Technical Support since that's what we choose from the options we are given by the automated phone message. But it turns out from the people we talked next that Toshiba Canada Technical Support team that they are actually Customer Services people. This is since if you dial either Technical Support or Customer Services you are talking to same people!
So after getting no help, we ask to talk to a Supervisor and they refused to allow us to talk to their supervisor saying he said he can't do nothing for us and they will not allow us to talk to him.
This company technical support is non existant and their tv's have from now reading the internet a reputation to have their tv imagine die very fast!
Spare yourself and your family the trouble with dealing with a company with no customer support and bad products and buy any other company LCD TV!

At first it started with a blank screen with no sound. Then I reset the TV, power it back on, then no sound and a blank screen. I immediately referred to the manual which suggested to look at the red light and count number of blinks before a pause. I pass this information on to the supplier and suggest that I needed a new lamp. The new lamp has arrived and was installed. But now we have sound but no picture. I would very much like to know what is the problem know? Can this be solved.
Looking forward for some assistance on this.
Thanks.

42" LG plasma, set up Saturday 6-14, picture and sound initially great. Using inexpensive HDMI cable from TigerDirect. On Sunday 6-15 the sound stopped working. Hooked up cable box to surrond sound system, no problems with sound this way. Probably not the HDMI cable as picture quality still great.
