Major ice build up on the freezer side of the side by side TFX20JRSM model RL257174. Defrosted the freezer side, seems to be working alright but the refrigerator is not cooling properly. The temperature is 45 degrees F at the highest setting. Is there something I can do to rectify this problem. Roger

My samsung rs20br has ice build up on the floor of the freezer, under the bottom drawer. I defrosted it but it has come back . How can i fix this?

Believe it or not your freezer has a heater that defrost your freezer. It runs on a cycle to keep the ice from building up. Your freezer may be set to cold or the heater isn't working properly.

Freezer side not cold enough, similar temperature as Refrigerator side

It could be many things. My first guess would be the defrost. The coil that gets cold in your freezer builds ice on it and the only way to get the ice off is to run a heater near the coil long enough for the ice to melt. All freezers have something built in to defrost and domestic are typically just an electric heater on a timer. When your freezer stops working again, you may want to pull open the panel of your freezer and see if your coil (a heat exchanger that probably looks a lot like your car radiator) is covered in ice. If it is, it could be the timer or the actual heater that is bad.

Icing up

I've just had a similar problem. I fixed it by removing the large panel on the back of the inside of the freezer. I found a large build up of ice at the bottom of the freezer which seems to have developed because the drain hole at the bottom of the freezer was blocked. I defrosted the ice, cleared the drain and now the freezer is working fine.

GE side by side freezer not defrosting (model GSS25SGBRSS)

there are only like two different ones that the manufacture use. one has four wires to it and the other i thinlk has three. All you need is the k=make and the model number of your refrigerator and the people at the parts house should be able to help you.

Whirlpool refrigerator making noise

YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE DEFROST CIRCUIT. NORMALLY BOTH THE DEFROST COMPONENTS NEED TO BE REPLACED. NOT OFTEN DOES THE DEFROST TIMER GIVE TROUBLE SO IF BOTH COMPONENTS ARE REPLACED AND ELEMENT IS GOOD BUT ICE STILL BUILDS UP THEN TIMER WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED AS WELL.
