I have a hoover maxi 6 tv30 sorry the serial number label has come off with the years and age. The belt has snapped. I have ordered a new one, but need to know how to fit it when it arrives.

Hello! Your belt will need to be replaced about twice a year. If your belt is breaking within a couple uses of you changing it, you may not have the correct belt for your vacuum. Double check the owner's manual or Hoover.com to verify the belt number for your vacuum. Always replace the belt with a genuine Hoover belt. Hope this helped!

yes it could be that simple. sometimes the belt will wear and stretch. Generally I advise my customers to replace the belt once per year, or as soon as something gets caught to stop the brush from turning.

Your belt number should be on the model/serial plate on the bottom of the unit there. 38528-###. I am guessing its a 38528-033 but could be 38528-040. Your model/serial plate will be more accurate.

Your belt number will be listed on the data label with the model number. Check your local Hoover / Dirt devil dealer for the part.

On models that do not have disengageing clips for the top to be removed, you must remove the front (face panel) and this is usually done by 2 small screws at the bottom of the front panel. Then you tilt the front out and will be able to unhook the front from the top. Now, you need to undo a small bolt or screw inside between the top and the side panel (there is one on each side). It is usually printed at the serial tag. Just open the dryer's door and look for the label. If there is no label, then look on the back of the appliance (If machine is older than 10 years old, look on the back)

If there is only model and serial number but no manufacture date, provide the numbers on the label so we can find that information.

Try turning the drum by hand. If it spins easily with no resistance, the belt has failed. On the back of the appliance you should find a label identifying the Make, Model, and Serial Number. Take down all the information provided, and then find a local appliance shop that carries that brand. Order the new belt.
