Re: Trying to upload photo's but phone wont connect via...
Hi there, I posted this problem initally (ivan6227). It has a simple solution: When you enter the LG software, a window opens, showing your folders on your computer ('My Documents', etc.) as well as the mobile and its folders. You can not transfer files from here into a Windows 'My Documents' window. You have to do it just in that LG application window, from the phones folder to your 'My pictures' in 'My Documents'

While connecting phone to pc through usb port u should install the phone software in the pc first otherwise the pc will not allow you to connect and trasfer data. if there is a software u can easily trasfer data from phone to pc and pc to phone.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

use your computer to reset it through a USB cable. The phone may have
come with a computer program when you purchased it. The program goes on
your hard drive and will recognize and access your phone when the phone
is connected to the computer via the USB cable. The iPhone uses iTunes
for this purpose. Once the phone is plugged into the computer, access
the program and click the "Restore" button. This can erase contacts,
photos, calendars and other data but should restore your phone back to
working order. It will also restore any information from the phone that
you had previously backed-up on the computer, such as text messages and
u must hav got a usb cable with the phone... connect the phone to pc using the cable..... ur pc will show new device found...go to my computer..removable devices..browse ur phone memory card and copy the files from..
if u dont hav a usb cable u can use a blutooth device also...
hey.. if u connect ur phone via usb, be sure that ur phone is in home screen, because if not, for example if you connect your phone and you're in your message menu then you will open some apps in your pc suite the message will appear saying 'Fail to connect to the mobile handset, Please check the COM port and
connect in idle screen. Due to the multifunction, despite idle screen,
it can be failed to connect' now try it by connecting the phone but in home screen mode.. gotcha buddy?? hope soo..
This is how I did it. I am using Windows Vista so it maybe different for other OSs.
Find and select the picture(s) on your pc, copy them using CTRL-c.
Plugin your g1, and if you have installed the drivers, you need to goto your g1 and hold the USB icon on the top of the screen for a couple seconds. It should expand downwards, then pull it down. open the USB connected by toucing it. Touch the "Mount" button on the screen.
Autoplay dialog box should open on your pc, select "open folder to view files". open "dcim" folder. Paste the pictures in that folder.
NOTE: You will not be able to access the sdcard from the g1 until you unplug the USB after you're done.
Once all the pictures are uploaded into the sdcard, goto "My Computer" on your pc, rightclick the sdcard drive(it should be named like "Removable Drive" or something, and select "eject".
Now remove the USB cable, Select "Pictures" icon in you apps, if needed select "dcim" folder, and touch the pictures.
Siimilar can be done with music, just changing the instruction to "My Music" on your pc and also opening "Music" icon on your g1.
first thing you have to ask is if the .sis file is compatible with your p990i. A lot of files out there says it is but it isn't realy. If it's not compatible with you phone, then it wont upload or install. The best way to check if you hardware/software settings are ok is to install a java app via pcsuite. If it installs ok, then the sis file is not compatible and there is no way to force the phone to install it
Hi, I just had the exact same problem..
I tried like FOREVER and I even said, if this try doesnt work; i'm giving up, and then... it finally worked.. haha :) so, this is what I did.
(dont connect your phone yet but set your phone as data service) You open the program LG pc suite, and then click connection wizard > usb > and then here, you connect the both ends of the usb.. one end on your pc and the other on your phone, and then you press next. Hopefully it says something like Com Port Number and Phone Model. You click next and finish. So, now you are connected to the phone to your pc. To get photos to your pc, you click content. images. and copy and paste to where you like (pictures in your pc) and then your done :D this also goes to other files too :D
I hope this really helped because I just learned it few minutes ago and I was about to scream because I tried so many ways. Hope this helped and Good Luck :D
try clicking the button on top right hand of screen (multitasking button) see if there are any menus open . pc suit wont connect if there are any open menus. so u will need to close any b4 tring to connect.
First connect the phone using the USB cable provided. Open the LG PC Suite software. On the left hand side is a connection wizard select this and then USB. Don't change any of the port information. Once it has connected, select contents. go to your picture folder and then just drag your pictures onto it. DONE!
You have 2 ways to install Softwares etc. to the Memory Card of your Phone : -
(A) Use the Data Cable that would have accompanied your Phone (See the Box of your Phone for all the articles that came with your Phone). Connect your Computer to the Phone via the Data Cable. Now, follow the Instructions in the Software Guide.
(2) Eject the Memory card from your Phone and insert it in the Card Reader and connect the Card Reader to your PC and follow the Instructions in the Software Guide.
