Bios update

How to Update Your BIOS

By Patrick Miller, PCWorld

  • Check your BIOS version, without restarting your PC, by using msinfo32.exe (as described in the text).187437-versioncheck_original.jpgThe easiest way to find your BIOS version is to open up the System Information app in Windows--just type msinfo32 into the search bar (for Windows 7/Vista) or the Run box (XP), and clickSystem Summary; your BIOS version should now show up on the right under your processor speed. Record your version number (and the date that appears afterwards, if applicable).

Step 2: Check your PC/motherboard manufacturer\'s Website for BIOS updates.

Most PC manufacturers handle BIOS updates based on your specific line and model, so head over to your manufacturer\'s support page and check its listings for your PC, because if you download and install a BIOS intended for a different model, your PC probably won\'t work (although most BIOS updaters are smart enough to notice if you try to install them on the wrong hardware). If there is a BIOS update file available, grab it--along with any documentation it comes with, because often warnings and specific instructions are contained in the Read Me docs.

Those of you who assembled your PC yourself will need to look for BIOS updates from your motherboard manufacturer\'s Website. If you don\'t remember your motherboard\'s model number, you can look it up without opening up the case by downloading and running CPU-Z and clicking on the Mainboard tab.

Step 3: Read the included documentation.

Your PC\'s BIOS handles a lot of the nuts and bolts ISO Recorder for Windows XP or the version for Windows 7/Vista) to create a BIOS update CD.Other systems will have you copy a few files to your bootable disk, restart, and open up the BIOS during startup (typically by pressing a specified key for setup options), and change the boot order so your system looks for a bootable USB drive or CD before loading the OS from your hard drive.

My pc can not shown the sata hdd drives

Hello here are the homepages:

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=531&CategoryID=1&MenuID=16&LanID=9

Here are the other model ( version 3,1 )

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=548&CategoryID=1&MenuID=16&LanID=9

This is important when the drivers needed to be found.

But here seems to be no drivers for windows 7.

Here is only drivers for vista and xp, and there is absolutely no guaranty, the drivers will work on windows 7.

You need to setup the bios boot settings, in order to boot from the drive.
First boot device dvd drive, and second the harddrive.
This selection is urgent, when installing windows.

Other selections maybe needed, depending on the bios version.
The sata drive, should be shown in the bios main meny, when entering the bios.

I suggest you to download the manual, if you don`t have it, and read the setup install section, for basic boot procedure.

Good luck

My windows alwyas restart & recovery bios

orangmedn

pc r restart for several reason like power supply problem, over heated, os problem. if ur pc restart when u try to access any drive or insart cd or dvd in drive means ur power supply is faulty. and if it restart after a fixed time (approximately) means over heated. (u reinstall xp so operating system is not infected.) if one of above symptom r their then no need to update bios.

2nd if some problem heppen during ur bios update and it not wirte properly and u restart ur pc in this situation the ur pc can not start and result is no display condition. if it happen then contact with any mother board repear centre or mother board service centre. (because if bios program r corrupt it need to repalce or rewite).

(**2nd time if u update any BIOS be Cautious. at first take backup then update. if any problem happen then restor with backup copy, then restart ur pc. until u sure update successfully do not restart ur pc).

Help install sound software

Hi Thabz, a system that request you to keep rebooting the PC is normally caused by a program you recently installed. If you are able to continue running windows with out windows restarting & able to get into Add/Remove programs long enough to uninstall that program than try it. (this is more often not possible). You can also try presing F8 every 2 seconds (while booting thePC) & load windows boot menue. Here you can pick (Disable automatic restart on system failure). Try again to uninstall that recent program. Another option using the F8 key, you can also pick (last known good configuration).
If these haved all faild than I suggest you re-install windows, (over write it).
You can repair windows by booting to your Windows CD & reinstall windows. A reinstall will not earse your data, it will over write windows. Some programs will need to be reinstalled but your personal data will stay.
Here is the link for your Gigabyte board, (includes drivers & Manual).

Best of luck to you!
If I can be of more service, just ask.
