Question about Bernina Virtuosa 160
HelIo! have a Bernina 163 Virtuosa. I have fought with the buttonholer from day one. It suddenly has decided to make the left (first) side 1/8" longer at the beginning than the right (second) side. I come out with a buttonhole that looks fine on the top, bottom, and right side, but the left side is hanging over the beginning end, and too short on the finished end, thus a gap between the left side and the bar tack at the finished end. Has anyone else come across this problem, or is this something my machine made up in its head? Thank you for any help! wavymouse
Hi, I'm a Bernina tech and can tell you you need to have a technician recalibrate your buttonhole foot to the machine. There is a function in the service program to do this. Also the machine will need a speed calibration once the buttonhole foot is calibrated. This will definatly solve the problem.

The 163 buttonhole sensor can only be calibrated with a special optical filter that is fitted onto the foot lifter bar during calibration, but apart from that, I agree with Richard - get it done by a Bernina service agent.
