Thank you.

Hi Sam

This actually called a Colourwheel , but never the less this is very easy to DIY.

You'll obviously have to take off the top cover of the Projector , and you will see that the Colourwheel sits in a bracket that is fastened to the bottom casing of the Projector.

Unscrew the bracket and take out the bracket and colourwheel as a whole. If memory serves me correct you will get the replacement part just like that in a new bracket.

When taking the colourwheel out do remember to take out the lint ( colourwheel's cable - white and very flat ) and also the regulator board's cable - they are normally right next to each other on the Mainboard.

If the replacement part does not come in a new bracket , then you will have to take it out of the bracket by unscrewing the 3 small screws at the back of the colourwheel. Do not remove the small regulator board that is also attached to the bracket !

If you have any further queries , please do not hesitate to post me a request , I will be more than happy to assist you the best I can in here.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya !

How do you change the bulb in side turn signal lamps(in exterior mirrors)

usually the plastic cover snaps right loose, revealing the guts in the mirror. in a few vehicles with power mirrors, the mirror snaps loose from its mount. search mirror marker lamp for your vehicle, the information is easy to look up.

Have sound no picture fan makes noise then stops

If lamp, color wheel (if used), or a number of other things are wrong set will do just as you describe.

remove lamp and inspect to see if shattered inside.

with lamp removed look where it faces (may need a mirror) to see if the wheel is there and or shattered or broken.

first two things to look at. Lamps in general have a 2,000 hour life=average user that is 2 years.

Both elec door mirrors stopped responding same tme, why?

First, make sure you do not have the mirror control switch in the "neutral" position. If it is, neither mirror will work. If the switch is in the correct position to operate each mirror and neither of them work, the next thing I would check would be the MIRRORS fuse (2 Amp) located in the Body Control Module Fuse Block under the right side of the dash near the blower motor. If the fuse is blown, you probably have one of your mirror circuits shorting to ground. In this case, I would replace the fuse and see if it blows again when I operate each mirror. If one side works and the fuse blows when trying to operate the other side, then you at least know which mirror circuit is shorted and you can diagnose accordingly. If the fuse blows immediately (without operating the switch), or if the fuse is not blown, then you most likely have a defective mirror control switch or a broken wire in the umbilical that goes between the body and the driver's door.

Want to replace my broken driver side power mirror. Would like to know what I need to do. A diagram would be helpful.

hello there:
you're mirror replacement is really easy all you should need to do this is a Phillips screw driver and i do believe it would be a 3/8 or maybe a 7/16 socket or wrench you should have a small triangle shaped plastic cover in the corner of the window that has a screw in it you will need to remove the screw and plastic cover and you should see two nuts remove the nuts and the mirror should come right off the door look for wire connection unplug and replace the mirror install in reverse...hope this helps you out please leave a review thanks sincerely D.Jones

If it's the lamp on the bottom side of the outside mirror it's called a puddle lamp and yes, you can buy just the lamp.

TV has alittle dark haze, not bad,9inchs in from side, top to Bott

Probably the light tunnel. The tunnel is a square tube made up of 4 mirrors glued together.

It looks like this from the side: |_| (with a piece on top too.)
When the glue breaks down, it shifts inside the little mirror holder. The shifted mirrors looks like this /_/ what you are seeing is the shadow of the tilted mirror tunnel.
ON the RCA's there's not a good fix.

RCA's response:
"Ok, well sadly they do not offer the light tunnel anymore, which is what you need. Sadly you would be rendered to get a whole new light engine assembly. That would be the D.N.D module, light tunnel, color wheel, optic spanner, and oci. mirror. Your best bet would be to search ebay2_bing.gif for a broken engine and replace it that ways."

That is the ONLY response I got from them.

I took the set apart and found the 4 tiny mirrors. I will be attempting to epoxy them together. (The set is dead anyway, why not try?)

Internal mirror broken

Well without seeing the damage I would have thought Superglue would be your answer and just re afix the mirror if it is indeed undamaged .
Otherwise as it has a working bulb ( usually worth more than the actual machine? ) Maybe a replacement unit off ebay can be obtained you would also have a spare for any other repairs . .... Regards Vortash

Sound but no picture

Hello..the first thing I would troubleshoot is the lamp, check if it is burnt out or just not seated to the ballast correctly. It could also be your ballast is going bad too, may need to replace it. Or it could be your color wheel is going bad if it is not spinning. But if your color wheel is not spinning it could also be your DMD board (digital mirror display) has gone bad also. Wish I could be more specific but this could be one of many different things going bad.
