Hello,
Where did you purchase this laptop ? If you got it from a store and it is asking you for a product key then you need to go back and either have them use a valid product key or give you a new laptop that works correctly.
If you purchased this laptop from an individual, then they sold you one with a bootleg or illegal copy of Windows Vista.
You could check the bottom of the laptop there 'Should' be a product key sticker on the bottom that will have the key that is specifically for that laptop. Use it if it is, and that should work.
