If the player was manufactured/purchased in the last year, Apple can look it up using the serial number - if they say, no, however, without a receipt, few places are willing to help.

Ipod touch won't charge or turn on, bought a wal-mart warranty for it but can't find it

If it won't charg or turn on, then either the battery or ribbon cable connection between battery and main circuit board is faulty or the system needs an update. They should have the serial number in their system if you have a receipt or origional box.

How can i get my ipod touch to work with out the headpones because when i unplug the headphones out i can heard nothing and is supossto work with out them do i need to turn then on ? how do i do that ?

This Joelwilcox guy is correct.  The speakers should come on when you don't have the headphone jack plugged in.  Check the mute and also slide the volume bar up higher.
Your speakers won't work if you dropped it hard or exposed this thing to any type of moisture or water.  This kitty doesn't like water.  Take the thing into the store for exchange if your within your 30 day warranty window.  Take the thing into the Apple store if your within your 1 year warranty window.  You don't need your receipt, cause they just look on the back plate of the ipod for the serial # and type it into their computer.  The computer will tell them if your ipod is within the one year warranty.

Warranty problem

The warranty of a product is provided by the manufacturer of the product, not the retailer that sells it. Retailers can offer you an extended warranty or service plan, but the normal warranty is the manufacturer's domain. You will likely need the receipt because most manufacturer's will ask for proof of purchase since the warranty always starts on the day of purchase and the receipt is the only thing that proves when you bought it.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

My ipod has a blank white screen how do i fix it

if your ipod is within a year of purchase it's still under warranty. return it to apple and they will replace it.
or if it is within 30 days return it to the retailer and take your receipt and they may just give you a new one.
It sounds like the LCD went bad, it happens and apple is aware of these issues so try and get it replaced.
If you don't want to do the warranty thing, go onto ebay and buy a screen for it and do a search on youtube for a "take apart" video for your model.

Good luck

Most manufactures will not cover physical damage (Dropping, getting hit, etc..) and water damage anything else should be covered as a manufactures defect but you will need your receipt when you contact apple to prove when you bought it.

60GB ipod from best buy online as refurbished

Hello cslp,

I believe that you purchased the item online (based on the title of the post) but I am confused about your listing the product "as refurbished." Best Buy stores and the BestBuy.com website do not sell refurbished iPods. We only sell new items, which I believe you item is new based on the fact that you say it was in a sealed box.

If you purchased the iPod from a Best Buy store you can get a full refund or exchange on the item within 30 days of purchase as long as you have the receipt and as long as the product is in new and resellable condition. If you purchased the product from www.BestBuy.com then you can likewise make a return within 30 days or receiving the product.

If for some reason you are past the 30 day return period, there is a one-year manufacturers warranty on iPods. Your local Best Buy store should be assisting you in having the unit sent out for service under the warranty as long as the unit is under warranty.

Best Regards

Battery life

Hello nkikkix23,

If then iPod is still under a warranty or service contract then the battery should be covered. Even if you no longer have the receipt the store where you purchased the ipod may still be able to look up the purchase using your phone number or credit card information (depending on how you paid for the item and service plan).

I would suggest contacting the store of purchase to obtain a duplicate receipt or service contract. Once you have that information you can get service on the item to get the battery replaced.

Best Regards
