Once you have the new drum unit, and are ready to install, just open the front door. Slide out the toner cartridge/drum unit combination assembly. Press the release tabs on either side of the toner cartridge and lift it up and out of the drum unit. Set it aside. Unpack the new drum unit and go over the installation instructions if you have them. Basically you are just removing all of the packing materials for the drum unit. Once that is done you need to install the old toner cartridge into the new drum unit. It just slides in and locks down. Then install the whole assembly back into the printer.
Leave the front door open, and press the Options key on the control panel.
The display will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO".
Press 1 to reset the drum count.
Close the front cover.
This should complete the installation process. Just run a test copy to verify all is well.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

How do i change the color of riso drUm from red to burgundy?

All you really have to do is put in the ink color you want and run a bunch of prints. Going from a light to dark color like black is fast--like about 3000 prints. Black to light color is going to be a lot more prints. Best is to print something with heavy ink. the more ink you put out the fast it will change color.

It say drum end soon and i dont know what this means as i put a new ink cartridge in it and it still keeps coming up the same.

Your unit obviously has a separate drum and toner.
Changing the toner, doesn't change the drum.
You will need to change the drum soon.

To change the drum you have to slide the plattened cover to the left, like you do when removing a paper jam, open the top cover, you will see a handle that you pull to remove the defeloping and drum unit, remove the drum and def unit.
The drum is attached by two clips on top of def unit, unlock the drum from the def by releasing that clips, slide te drum protecktion plate to the rear and remove the drum.insert the new drum by reversing this steps.
If your image of your copies is not bad you can remove the waste toner in the drum unit before replacing it.On top of the drum there are two plugs open them and remove the waste toner, make sure you remove all of the waste toner. Then that message will go away.

Change drum soon will not clear after new drum inserted

This machine is reset with a plastic sheet that come in the new drum unit. When the drum is inserted for the first time, the sheet slides out and trip the exit sensor in a certain way. Then the counter is cleared. If you still have this clear plastic sheet, then you can reinsert it into the top of the drum unit and try it again.

Changing Drum

The drum is where the image is applied before being transfer to the paper. If the drum is wearing down the image will become poor. Changing the drum unit will make the image like new. So, yes you can run the drum catridge until you get a poor print out.
