I have the Compaq Presario 6000. I read your previous suggestion for this problem. It doesn't work.
Do you have any other possible suggestions for this problem?
No other key will work.
Is there anything that is listed in F1 (Start Up) that will help solve this headache?

If your computer works fine with an onboard video, it is possible that your motherboard is not getting much power. The agp video card gets power from the motherboard. I suggest using a different power supply.
Can you use that port to read any other device? What operating system are you using?Did it work previously?Windows 98 you will have to install drivers.Chances are that old computer has a usb 1.0 so it might not work. However try another device in that port or any usb port on the computer to see if any ports are working.Does your scan disk work on another computer.Have you done a windows update recently.Make sure you try all the above.
after reading your query i can understand that there may be no issue with the power supply, can u hear any kind of long beep? if yes try cleaning the ram, if this also doesnt help then try changing the ram. if this is not helpful please check the cmos battery, if battery is ok, then there may be a problem with your motherboard of Processor.
The best way to obtain drivers for your Presario is to go to http://www.hp.com and select the auto-detect feature which will automatically detect your computer, ask you for the operating system, Windows XP or Vista and you will be presented with a list of the drivers which will be automatically installed for you. Alternatively you can use this link to manual choose the LAN drivers listed here:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us〈=en&product=434626
