If you can provide the full model no. of your dishwasher then I can try to find a manual.

Not all dishwashers can handle the powerball. One of the reasons for the detergent not dissolving fully is lack of correct water temperature. If you are using hot water connection then make sure the water temperature is hot enough.

If cold water then it is possible the dishwasher heater is not creating the correct temperature.

Let me have the model no. and I can look further into your problem.

Our dishes are not getting cleaned. Food particles remain and spots are all over the glassware. The detergent comes out of the holder, but is hardly dissolved and ends up on the bottom of the dishwasher --...

If your sprayer arms are clear, you will want to check these things.
The upper arm attaches to a tube in the back of the dishwasher. If the support clamps come loose, the upper spray tube will not be flush with the tube and can't carry water to the sprayer arms.

Also, make sure your water temperature is hot enough to dissolve your detergent. It should be 140 degrees.
Finally, make sure your detergent is fresh. If it is several months old, it might have become affected by humidity and will not dissolve.
I hope this helps. If it does, please come back to Fixya and rate my answer

Powerball tablet remains in dispenser and has not been dissolved

Hi,

I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to make sure it is working... Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...

first step would be to cut your soap usage in half. To much soap will cause the problems above.

Power balls not disolving

Check what cycle you are using, the different sections of a powerball are designed to dissolve at different stages of the cycle so if the cycle you choose dont have the stage required it aint gonna work correctly. I think Eco and Fast washes affect them.

Hope this might help

Soap dispensor not opeaning, and soap tabs are not dissolving

Hi
Many dishwashers (but not all) use a BI-metal strip that heats up once power is applied to it. The BI-metal strip bends and allows the soap door spring to open up the dispenser. This bi-metal strip is not given full 120 volts power, the timer "shunts" the power through either the heating element ( most common ) or the motor and this gives the bi-metal strip lower than full power to work and open. Most often the bi-metal strip has lost its ability to bend properly and needs to be replaced. Older GE dishwashers used a mechanical arm driven by the timer to open the dispenser = no electrical bi-metals. Newer (plastic liner) Maytag dishwashers and many newer Whirlpool & Frigidaire dishwashers use a wax motor to open the soap dispenser. The plunger inside the wax motor slowly moves and pushes the plunger and door open. And, if this wax motor doesn’t receive 120 volts, then it’ll not work.
Please do rate this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Doesnt use powerball, half dissolved tablet sits in bottom at end of wash.

THIS IS LISTED AS A DRYER. IF THIS IS A DISHWASHER, CHECK TO BE SURE YOU HAVE A SUFFICIENT SUPPLY OF WATER. ALSO, CHECK TO BE SURE THAT THE WATER TEMP GOING INTO THE DISHWASHER IS 120 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT.

Bosch Exxcel Auto Option/Detergent tablet does not dissolve?

It seem that your DW drain it's water by syphon action. Check if the drain hose is properly installed as a U shape; otherwise the DW can drain itself at any time, leaving the soap undissolved .
