Kenmore model 16039/665.16039403 will not start...does not appear to have power

My Kenmore model 16039/665.16039403 is just outside of warranty and will not start...it does not appear to to be getting power because the lights on the console will not light at all. I have confirmed that power is getting to the unit though. Does this mean the control panel is dead? Thanks in advance for your time and assistance.

I have a Kenmore dishwasher model 665 (black, approx 4-5 years old) that acts like it is not getting power as pushing the buttons does nothing. It has not been "acting up" rather it just acts as though it has been unplugged. I have removed the front bottom panel and confirmed that power, and water, are getting to the unit. Any idea's?

There is a thermal fuse located on the electronic control board housing that may have failed. This replaceable part (gray or white) is clipped on to the side of the housing.

Kenmore dishwasher latch malfunction

if you just bought it should be under warranty. call for service. if not under warranty replace the latch assembly. you can also remove the console that holds the latch and see if there is an obvious reason for the binding.

I have a model 665.15831791 When it fills with water it does not go into a cycle, it automatically discharges the water

It could be two things causing such problem: no power to the wash pump motor or the motor itself is bad. Remove the wire plug from the motor and check for the 120V when the timer is on wash cycle. If there is no power then check the wires and the plug at the timer. If this is not an issue replace the timer.

If there is a proper power to the motor then the problem with your dishwasher is a bad wash pump motor. If your dishwasher is less then 5 years old then it could be under limited manufacturer warranty. Call kenmore with the model and the serial numbers and they will tell you. If the dishwasher is more then 5 years old I do not recommend you to repair it yourself. I've seen many times when it's not possible to install the pump back after repair because the plastic tub got warped.

here is the link to the schematic diagrams for your dishwasher ... you can also order for timer and other parts if need be from the same link as well

Clean light flashing

This is a communication error between the control and motor. Try resetting the control by pressing the following keys with in 5 seconds.

HEATED DRY, NORMAL, HEATED DRY, NORMAL

after about 15 seconds hit cancel then the control should be unlocked. If the problem comes back the problem is most likely with the motor for the pump. Check with your warranty, some of these Kenmore models may be under warranty

The problem is more likely the door switch is failing or out of adjustment/loose. You will need to remove the door panel. This is easy to do. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you thru the process and also show you how to test the switch. It's adifferent model but the procedure will pretty much be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model.

Kenmore dishwasher (model 655) not draining

when i attend dishwashers that have lost power to some part, i always check for broken wires inside the door skin, the wire harness inside the door skin gets hot and cracks with use when opening the door all the time after that check the outlet pump which is often a separate part to the main motor, this pump could be faulty electrically
