Ge profile refrigerator won't run

I moved my frige to the garage and now it won't run. It ran fine before. The light comes on and the thermostat is set at the initial setting. It clicks but nothing happens. Is there a fuse that might be blown or a reset button somewhere I can push?

The refrigerator was operating normally then I notice that neigher the compressor or the fan were working. The interiro light functions. I unplugged the applicance for about 2 hours to see if it might reset itself. No luck. Any suggestions ?

When I plug in my GE fridge, the lights turn on, clicks are heard, panel lights dim momentarily, but there is no compressor sound, no cooling. Any ideas?

GE Profile fridge doesn't work. I went away for the weekend. My friends who were housesitting noticed that the icemaker wasn't working. So they "fixed" it. When we came home, we noticed that the freezer was at 36 degrees. A few hours later we noticed the fridge headed toward 60. We made sure the temps were set to 0 and 36, but nothing is happening. We did wait 30 minutes (actually now more like 3 hours) to see if it was in defrost mode.

The manual says something about showroom mode.

    What's that?

    Could that be the problem?

I have a GE GDS20KBSBCC bottom freezer-refrigerator. Last night it started clicking {relay on the motherboard in the rear of the fridge}, but the thing never kicked on,I uncovered the panel to see if anything fried on the board but nothing to the eye was wrong. The fridge is 18 monthes old. Bad chip? Bad relay? Any feedback for a solution would be great. Thanks Walter

Where is the click sound coming from. There is no fuse in the unit. If light comes on you have power. If it is a frost free refrigerator it will not come on if the defrost timer is in the defrost position. There is no reset button. Did you wait about 20 minutes to see if it would come on by its self?

Ge profile 26 pfss6pkx Light comes on but won't get cold, no fan running

It doesn't cool
  1. Condenser coils
Make sure you dust off the condenser coils to prevent dust build up and overheating due to it overworking. Simply unplug and use a long coil cleaning brush to get rid of debris.
  1. Check seals
If your refrigerator door seal is broken, warm air is pushing its way inside the unit, thus causing it to not cool properly. Prevent this from happening by replacing your seal and keeping the cool air inside.
  1. Temperature controls
Ensure that your thermostat is set correctly, usually 38-40 degrees Fahrenheit.
  1. Defective condenser fan
When this fan is defective, cold air is prevented from flowing through the vents. It may require replacement.
  1. Compressor issues
Check if there are clicking sounds coming from the compressor as it tries to start. If there is a clicking, it is one of only two options, either the start capacitor or a bad compressor. A start capacitor is fairly inexpensive whereas a sealed system repair on the compressor is very expensive and often not cost effective. Refrigerator Repair Help Troubleshooting and Parts

My Ge side by side freezer was thawing now it

Might just be a freezer thermostat gone bad by sticking in an open position. If that's the case you will be out of control in temp settings. Hope this has helped!!BB

Frige not cooling

The GE Profile is a complex but efficient refrigerator. We will need to check a few things like the evaporator, defrost element, defrost thermostat and the mother board. Let me know if you want me to go through this with you, Thanks, Sea Breeze

GFI outlet is tripping because of refrigerator in the garage.

Hi: Yes, replace the GFI outlet. A refrigerator should not be plugged into one for what you are experiencing and food loss. This was an easy answer for me, but unfortunately not for you The owners manual covers this, but us men don't read them (Well I had to as I worked with them for 30 years). Good luck, Jeff

Ice maker not making ice. Water disp inside frig disp water.

the line that gives water to the ice maker, every time the water comes down it lives a drip of water that turns to ice blocking the line, get some hot water and a towel and place the hot wet towel on top of the line intel it melts the ice in side the line. it happens to my frige at list once a year. if that is not the problem the valve that supplies water tho the ice maker needs replacing, it's behind the frige at the bottom, where the line coming from the house meets the frige.
