Is this a gas or an electric dryer as the model number doesn't match any dryer and depending on gas or electric it can be very different things that are wrong. The gas dryer will probably need a new set of coils but I need to know what kind of dryer it is to narrow down the exact problem. Please let me know and I would be glad to help you fix this as fast as possible.

First check the lint filter to see if it is clogged up
Then test the voltage at the heating element connections while its
heating and running, make sure not to touch anything else, as
    everything is live!

The reading should be 220-240 volts, if it is then it sounds like a weak/worn heater,
if your not not getting those readings then look for a short or a
    bad thermostat/high limit thermostat.

The temperature of the air coming out should be between 110-180 degrees as it cycles with the cycling thermostat/thermistor.

Let me know if you have any further questions and I would be glad to help you out, good luck with this

Sears should be able to sell you one otherwise there are many online places that you can get them from. I would say around $30 but it will depend where you buy them.

    (800) 252-1698
    Monday - Friday 7am - 9pm Central time
    Saturday - Sunday 9am - 7pm Central time

and yes the heater makes sense, sorry for not getting back to your question sooner, I was having some techinical difficulties with my computer, let me know if you need anything else, I personally would search around for a good price online

    www.partselect.com

    or

    www.partstore.com

    or

    http://midwestapplianceparts.com

Give each one a call and see which one will give you the best deal, each of them should have the element for your dryer. You will need your model number handy when you call, good luck

Whirlpool dryer only gets warm, will not go to higher temperatures

Is this a gas or electric dryer? If it is electric then it is probably a bad element.

I have a whirlpool dryer and the heating eleiment is getting hot but the dryer inside is barley warm

Inside of the dryer gets warmed up when the drum rotates as there is circulation of air. Hope your clothes are drying. If it takes long time then clean the screen filter as it gets clogged with the flint from clothes. As a matter of routine clean this filter every time you use it before starting the drying process.

Dryer doesnt get hot anymore after 2 yrs

You may want to check the dryer interior cabinet and/or the entire exhaust duct run to ensure you don't have any clogs. The following link explains many of the problems that can cause poor drying efficiency and longer dry times:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3578821-dryer_takes_too_long_to_dry

Before assuming you have a problem with the appliance, check your installation to ensure you are providing the dryer with proper exhaust and air flow. A dryer in a clogged state or having improper air flow will not dry efficiently and will cause the heating circuits to actually overheat. Eventually, this can lead to component failures and is the source of fire hazards.

If you have any questions, please post back an let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

This is an electric dryer. Over the past week when

one of 3 things could be wrong/1)dry,tight motor bearings/2)drum bearing bad/3) bad motor windings, remove belt off drum and see if anything turns hard i.e. motor, drum each one isolated then run motor w/o drum belt on drum and see if motor gets overly warm or hot especially around the bearing ends

Wash machine sometimes gets stuck on rinse cycle & dryer not dry

Sounds like the drain hose for the washer is too far down in the stand pipe at the wall causing a siphon effect, try raising drain hose a little. The dryer sounds like the vent line from back of dryer too wall is pinched causing an air flow obstruction. Hope this helps.

Your venting plays a huge part here.Do you want to be 100% sure about the vent ,ok,for just ONE load remove the vent hose from the dryer keep atleast 3 feet clear for the air to exit dryer. Now select TIMED dry cycle for 60 minutes.Start dryer and make sure your in a heat setting (not air fluff). The normal load should dry in 60 min,If it does than you now you have a block in the venting.

Dryer doesn't get hot or turn off.

yes very possible timer but my guess on the times i seen the problem would be the heating element are the thermo fuse on the elemnt canister when the heater does not come on the timer will not move ck the heater and the fuses on the heater canister it will fix your problem
