I have the same problem, but mine never blinked. Just stopped. Dead. Nothing. Nada. Called Phillips and they said to take off the power cord and leave it "unplugged" for 60 seconds. Did that...nothing. So he said I have to call an authorized repair man. I even left it unplugged overnight hoping it would heal. Nothing. Now I found a guy that will service it in my home. Another wanted me to bring it to him. This thing weighs 800 pounds!! So the guy that's coming speculates that it's the power supply. Said these TV's only last about 2 years. Great. I have 2 of them. I'll keep you posted!!

I have the same problem with mine. Red lights flashing and nothing happening. I have discovered that if I unplug it for a minute and retry, it will eventually come on. This usually takes 4 or 5 tries (about 10-15 minutes). About a minute later, the sound finally comes on, after a lot of crackles and hisses. However, I can go to my 10 year old, super cheap, non-flat, non-fancy tv, and it comes right on. Sound and picture in a split-second! Why are these things so expensive, if they aren't good quality and don't last? Oh well, live and learn. Next time, let the Joneses win!

This problem occurs because of a failure in the SSB (Small Signal Board). This is error code 063 by the way. These a faulty modules from the looks of all the failures I read on the internet. Repairman wanted $700 to repair this. I am buying a used SSB off Ebay and am going to attempt the repair myself. I invested $7.95 also for the technician's manual (available on the internet) to help with the procedure. I'll let you know how I do.

We have a 50 inch magnavox plasma screen. We found and used a fix from fixya! It only costs us $34.00 campared to the $300.00+
anyone wanted to look at it. The problem was on the powerboard but was two little capacitators with the model #3300 10v. We carefully took the back off the tv and removed the power board, went to a local electric supply store and bought the 2 parts for $2 each, we then found someone (tv repair shop!) to sauter the new ones on! Got it home put it back together and it stayed on, no depressing shutdown after a few seconds! you can find a picture of a fried capacitator on yahoo images, they are supposed to be flat but if defective will be bubbled at the top or even split! I am calling Magnavox today to complain that they are not recalling this part that should have been a better quality capacitator! Hope this helps some people!!

More specific, please ! Finally, did you replaced all bad capacitors or only replaced the power supply unit ? Because there are many other capacitors on other places that can be damaged.
Sure, the problem seems to be from one of the capacitors, but you have to know how to find the damaged one (and with the proper instrument will be more easy). Howewer, to buy a good instrument is more expensive than to service your TV set (my opinion). Plus guaranty.

This is a plasma unit and philips plasma's are nortorious for bad power supplys, your problem may very well be the power suppy in the television, it is possible you blew a low B+ fuse on the power supply. There is also a issue with the Y-sustain board failing in this model, If you open the back and looking at the unit from the rear the y board is on the left side of the unit and the PS is in the center. disconnect the Y-sustain power plug from the power supply and turn on the unit if the unit stays on with no red light then the y board is bad. it does the same then replace the Power Supply.

Having problems turning on 2 year old Phillips

Philips TVs tend to have issues with bad capacitors in their power supplies. Failing capacitors tend to have slightly different ESR (equivalent series resistance) values when they have been left off, versus after they are warmed up and charged up. Either a new power supply board or replacement of the faulty capacitors will fix the problem.

Most Likely the power supply board has a few capacitors blown. You can repair it by removing back cover power supply board will be at the center of tv.Look for caps that have a round top these are the bad ones replace with same value caps. You will have to take power supply board out.Be careful these power supply boards have alot of voltage store in them.

Panasonic 50 inch Plasma

it could have over heated you can try to reset it first unplug it for about five minutes and try to turn it on if that dont work the remote might have a set button try holding that down until the red light flashes twice, then turn it on if not then hold the power button down on the set for a good five seconds to see if that resets it. if none of that works you will have to go to panasonic .com for the reset instructions.with the red light blinking the power supply is most likely good you just need to reset i.
