Gateway MX6650 Im trying to re install all the drivers for this laptop but for some reason not all the drivers are installing. I'm trying to get the laptop to get on the internet so I can install driver detective but a friend of mine was messing with it and deleted whatever I needed to get on the internet. How do I make it to where I can get it back on the internet?

Well he doesnt actually know what he did and I dont know what he did. I think he said that he accidently deleted. When I go to the device manager it says that theres drivers for 3 things that arent installed. the Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller, and the Network Controller. When I try to reinstall them it says I have to be on the internet to do it.

Ask the same friend to undo whatever he did. then you might have some luck. however, if all he did was get rid of windows explorer and put on firefox, use firefox, it is better.

Go to the Intel website and go to Support. There is an automated driver scan and that will find the most updated Matrix SATA driver for your computer and any other newer drivers for Intel based products inside it.

Hi

are y ou on your own laptop now
can you get onto the internet using a ethernet wire from your laptop into your router
if so have you tried all the windows updates
this may find and update the wireless driver for you

you could also try to un install it from your device manager
then re start the laptop
windows may on start up re install it correctly for you

have you looked on the official website for a windows 7 wireless driver

or you could look on the realtek website they may have a wireless driver for you

many thanks

I reinstalled winxp sp3 on a gateway 450 rog. I was able to install all the drivers except the network controller and it also won't recognize the wireless adapter, any thoughts or ideas?

I had the same problem.
The "Network Controller" in my case had to do with the wireless network driver on my 450ROG.
None of the drivers that are available for 450ROG on the Gateway Support site worked correctly.
Here's what I did to solve the problem:
1. Flip the computer over. 2. On the back, you may see a little module that says "Fitted with Intel WM3B2100 802.11b". That's the built-in wireless network card (had no idea this computer had one, I inherited it). 3. Go to the Intel support site:http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ 4. Do a search for the "WM3B2100" driver. 5. Download and install the driver.
Fixed it for me!
Full info about the Gateway 450ROG is available at: http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Gateway/450ROG/3501353sp66.shtml This helped get me on the right track.

Windows xp on Gateway MT6723 laptop

Are you trying to install Windows XP on your laptop that has a SATA drive in the laptop?
And during the Windows XP install it cannot find a hard drive?
The reason why Windows install does not work is because Windows XP does not have a SATA driver support and therefore cannot find the hard disk.
THE FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM.
Go into your BIOS and turn off Native SATA support or set it to IDE controller (this setting depends on the type of BIOS). Save the setting and reboot and you will be able to install Windows XP.

Sometimes the device driver gets uninstalled for several reasons.Go online to "Windows Update " and let "Windows Update install a new driver.
If "Windows Update" does'nt fix it, the give me your computer model number, and I'll get the driver for you.

No sound from my laptop

I couldn't download it either until i tried a different approach
Go to your hardware update wizard
Choose Don't search I will choose the driver to install
Scroll down and choose sound video and game controllers
Choose the manufacturer which should be Conexant Audio
and follow the steps to install that way.......

This was the only way it finally got installed and if it says it can't find the "camc6aud" sys file, under browse choose the directory where you downloaded the driver
Example: C:cabs/Conexant Audio/camc6aud

Good luck!!
