The colour problem is most likely because of signal interferance from things like microwaves and believe it or not, the sun. or it may be caused by partially dead pixels. another thing that may cause a problem like this is dust in the screen. have it taken apart and cleaned by an experienced/liscenced person. if you are nither, don't try it. you may damage your tv, or worse, hurt yourself.

possibly, but not likely. the lens or bulb surface may be dirty or dusty. but not usually anything more. something else you may want to have checked is the bulb alignment if the tv was dropped very hard.(this may be the problem, but not likely)

There is no blue or green on the screen. only redish color

This needs to be confirmed if the blue and green circuits are in order, it is important that you are able to remove the rear panel after disconnecting power and checking the working of the blue and green outputs so as to confirm if this is a power issue or a failure of the drive.

The color is extremly messed up...peoples skin is redish and the green is like a neon color? How do I adjust the color frm the back of the tv?

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

Color is to yello60P8241w and redish.how do i fix it-model

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both. Repair kits with instructions are also avail from www.TvRepairKits.com

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

I have a 60 inch Philips tv and the picture is kind of blury and a little red. What is tha caused from?

THREE possible reasons for this:
I will list each and describe for you:

1.) If redish picture go to a black and white channel; is the screen somewhat red or black and White? This is adjustable from inside the set.

2.) If colors are skewed or look like they have a red outline it may be a convergence problem. See attached photo.

3.) Some of these sets develop a problem with the coolant which is used to keep the face of each of the three tubes cool; it is called Glycol. You would have to remove back cover and with set on look into each of the three lens (red, green, blue) to see if you have a clear red, green and blue picture.

Which best describes your problem?

53 inch projection tv...seems like the color red and color blue have shifted giving me a picture with red and blue shadows

For CRT projection TV's, this indicates that the Green picture tube is burned (warn out). The less green that strikes the screen, the more redish the image will look. You will need to find an old school TV repair shop that knows how to replace picture tubes.
In the case of a DLP style TV, the color wheel needs replacing.

Color change.

philips is notorious for bad picture tubes. especially the blue. occasionally the coolant leaks out of a tube but this usually causes bigger problems than color change cause it shorts out whatever it leaks onto.

Warped Picture, Separated colors

Each color (red, green & blue) has an amplifier IC (STK-).
When there is a convergence issue, the first step is change both
IC's for reliability. Then check for open fuses devices, usually
pico fuses.Then re-check convergence alignment.......T.
