Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Xbox live Hi. I've had this problem for some time now, and it's really getting to me. My wireless phones for my house keep interfering with my Xbox 360 wireless adapter. There is probably nothing I can do, but if there is, please respond with your best suggestion. Thank You!

No, You do not have to change your xbox
No, You do not have to change you gamer tag
Yes, you can recover your profile

What your having is an internet issue, you must contact your internet service provider first. Xbox console connect with different connection as Static IP service (House Line) or Dynamic IP Service (Cable). Normally the person that installes your internet should help you configure all the equipment as they are trained for that service.

Even if other devices are not having a problem connecting to your wireless access point, it is usually a good idea to try those steps first.
1. Unplug the power cord from your modem. 2. Unplug the power cord from your router. 3. Wait 10-15 seconds. 4. Reconnect the power to your modem. 5. Reconnect the power to your router. 6. Wait 30-45 seconds while the devices reconnect to your service provider. 7. Retest your Xbox Live connection.
This process is known as power cycling. It removes the temporary files and caches stored in the devices, so when you reconnect a device, such as your Xbox, it's actually making a new connection request rather than trying to use the previous connection, which in some cases becomes corrupted and results in a connection error.
(I've had to do this several times with my own Xbox. Computers connect to the Internet just fine, but Live says there's a connection problem. Power cycling fixes it every time.)

My xbox live connection keeps getting interrupted

The phone cord that runs to your computer should have the filter with the two jacks (one for dsl and one for your telephone.) You need a regular filter (it just has a phone jack on it) everywhere there is a phone connected in your house. This should help a lot. It won't completely prevent you from getting disconnected but it will cut down on how many times it will. I hope this helps.

Xbox live connection keeps crashing.

Hi,

problems usually happen, when the signal strength drops.
I,d suggest hard-wiring the 360 to the PC or router, for optimal performance.

Thankyou for using fixya.

Xbox live stops working

It is a conflict with your router and modem. If you have a WRT54G linksys router and a Ae60 modem then this conflict will happen. To stop it, buy a new modem or router OR connect to XBox LIVE wirelessly using the XBox 360 wireless adapter ($100).

I assume you mean you can't play games online?

Is your account Gold or Silver? (Go the the Marketplace blade, then down to account information, membership.)

You can only game online with a Gold subscription, which is like $50/year.

Recovery?

Hi Viktoriag,
Once you recover your gamertag for the first time, it is signed up for the IP address you signed up on.
In other words, he can only play using the gamertag at his friends house.
Theres a few options such as getting a wireless router for his home, but thats alot of money and time for a little subscription.
Alternatively, you can call the xbox support tam and ask them torelocate.
Hpe this helps, good luck
