Question about Adobe Acrobat 7.0 for PC

1 Answer

ADOBE 7.0 PDF

I am used to using Adobe 6.0 to convert all types of files into PDF files on my office computer. My home computer has Adobe 7.0 and I cannot get a PDF document and a MS Word document to upload as one file. Is there anyway that I can download the 6.0 version and take off the 7.0 version if you aren't able to give me a solution? I have never had to do a PDF file from home before so I wasn't aware that the verison I had was 7.0.

Thanks for your help.

Just do the following in acrobat 7 to downsave the pdf to version 6 so that you can open the same in your office:-

Go to the Advanced tab and click on PDF optimizer and change the Make comaptible optiopn to "Acrobat 5 or later" and then save the PDF.

Cannot open attachments from emails.

Hi There.
If you can not open attached documents it might be because programs are missing on your computer.
As an example:
for a file xxx.PDF you need a PDF reader installed eg. Adobe Reader.
Can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
Download Adobe Reader and install it and you can read PDF files.
If the document is a Microsoft Office document you nee the whole Microsoft Office Package - but this package is not free - must by it.

As an alternative to the Microsoft program you can use Open Office.
Can be found here: www.openoffice.org
This program is compatible to Microsoft Office and it is free to use.

Other type of files need other programs etc.

I installed adobe 6 professional a few days ago on win 7 computer. but the printer drivers were not installed. i am not able to create pdf documents. also, when i try to download any pdf file from a web...

I am not 100% certain but I am not sure you can use that old a Adobe version with Win 7. The current Adobe Pro for creating .pdf files is now version 9 for Win 7. That may be part of your problem. Consult the Adobe website and see if that older version will even run in Win 7

Hello- i am a 62 year old novice in using a computer... This morning I received an e-mail which I needed to revise it's attachment and forward it to someone. When I tried to revise it there or save it...

What type of attachment? If it was a PDF, you probably read the file with Adobe Reader which does not allow you to alter the file. You could print out the document, fill it in and then scan it back into your computer (if you have a scanner or all-in-one printer).

Alternatively, try a free PDF editor online, such as http://www.pdfescape.com/ . There are some cheap PDF editors for sale as well but can be limited in their features and I haven't tried them. Adobe Acrobat is the full PDF editing program.

Some of the Office Suites will convert a PDF into a format that you can edit and then convert back to a PDF. (OpenOffice 3 does this in the Draw part of the program, according to online documentation.)

For other types of attachments, you will need to do something similar. Find a program that reads and writes to that format or can convert the file to one that can read and write to it.

Examples: ( .doc - word processor (WordPad, Office, OpenOffice
.xls - spread sheet (Office, OpenOffice) )

Obviously this isn't a full list.

I hope this helps.

Missing pdf maker files

Hi,
Solution Remove Adobe PDF from the Disabled Items list in the Microsoft Office application. To manage your Disabled Items list in a Microsoft Office application:
  1. Open the Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, Publisher).
  2. Choose Help > About [the application name].
  3. Click Disabled Items.
  4. Select Adobe PDF from the list, and then click Enable.
  5. Quit the Microsoft Office application, and then restart it.

If the error message continues to appear after you enable Adobe PDF, then check the security level for macros in Word:
  1. Choose Tools > Macro > Security.
  2. In the Security dialog, click the Security tab.
  3. Choose Medium or High.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • If you chose Medium, then click OK.
    • If you chose High, then continue with steps 5 through 7.
  5. Click the Trusted Publishers tab.
  6. Check Trust all installed add-ins and templates.
  7. Click OK.
PDFMaker and the right-click context menu should function again.

Unable to create pfd with word 2007 document

That is normal, Word 2007 cannot create PDF documents, it can only save files on PDF but, being PDF non his own format, it will lose document format, and may not display pdf.

To create PDF you need the full version (not the free acrobat reader) of adobe acrobat, or a different adobe software (eg illustrator) that manages PDF.

Office 2007 professional and Adobe 8 Professional problem

Very simple fix. Now and then after an Adobe Acrobat update Office will disable Adobe Acrobat as it is an add on. All you need to do is re-enable Adobe Acrobat. In Office 2007 goto Word Options, Add-ons, and at the bottom of the page is Manage. Click on the down arrow and select Disabled Items and click on GO. Re-enable Acrobat and you should be fine. In Office 2003, goto Help and selects disabled macros and re-enabler Acrobat.
