Recently purchased a second hand Carrier Split A/c -Model 42KPC019303 - 18000 BTU. The unit would work for awhile then shut off - fan included - and the green light would blink 5 times at intervals - but the unit did not start back. The sensor was changed and the unit started functioning normal for awhile - and then the problem resumed. Only difference is that this time the light blinks for about 10 mins and then the unit kicks back on. I want to know if this is a normal function, and if it can be adjusted or shut off. I live in the Caribbean - tropical - the remote is rfl-0601el. Thanks

The blinking light is giving you an error code. There should be a list of what the codes mean printed on the circuit board close to the light or inside the unit. Since the unit restarts it may be a high pressure problem. I don't have a list of the codes so I can't tell you exactly what you have.

I have the same problem. What sensor did you change? Did you eventually solve the problem?

My gree mini split 2400 heat pump air conditioner does not turn off at the set temperture when cooling

I am not sure about your specific model. However most A/C units I have worked with have a fan switch. The switch allows you to choose to have the fan on all the time or only when the unit is cooling. Some of these switches are behind the front panel, behind the panel or out in the open it should be close to the other controls. Hope this was helpful.

No heat but fan keeps running

If the air conditioner compressor runs all the time the main control board might be defective. The main control board provides the voltage to the fan motor and compressor. These boards are often misdiagnosed. Check all other components to be certain this is the cause of the problem.

Identify unit capacity.

The nameplate will provide a large amount of information, including the the manufacturer's name, model, serial, electrical requirements and the BTU rating or capacity that I believe you are looking for. Like the 120 volt sisters, the 240 volt unit should also have a nameplate. If unable to locate it on the chassis or frame of the unit in a similar location as the 120 volt, you'll have to look elsewhere. A www.google.com search on model number you provided (XHD183D) for this question indicates that it is a 17,900 BTU unit. If this is the correct model, case closed. If not, continue reading.

A good place to locate a nameplate if not plainly visible on the unit as it sits in the window would be on the chassis or frame behind the decorative grille. The grille is likely held in place by several clips and a screw or two. Shut off the AC and unplug it from the power source. Remove the filter as if to clean and carefully check for and remove screws and remove the grille.

I hope this helps!

Split unit, I get heat but no cold

I have run into this with the LG brand systems. try shutting power off to the outdoor unit to reset all units. If problem persists, it could have to do with a charge level of refrigerant (freon) or possibly a failed control board.
