Ipod Touch shutsdown during playing video

I just got my ipod and when I went to play a movie I downloaded it plays for a short time then shutsdown. I have contacted Itune but have not heard back, could this be a hardware problem and not a software problem?

Is it an ipod video you have ?

The iPod Touch is a multimedia player made by Apple, with a 3.5-inch touch-sensitive display and a built-in speaker, which makes it suitable for watching videos on the go. The device connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi, allowing you to download videos from Apple's iTunes Store, and stream videos from video-sharing websites like YouTube or movies from sites like Amazon or Netflix. You can also shoot videos with the iPod Touch's two built-in cameras.

Tap the Photos app icon on the Home screen to watch a video you shot with your iPod Touch's camera. Tap "Camera Roll." Thumbnail images of pictures and videos you shot appear on the screen. Video thumbnails have a video camera icon. Tap the thumbnail of a video to open it, then press the "Play" button to start playing it. Press the "Home" button to return to the device's home screen when you're finished watching a video. Launch the YouTube app from the Home screen to watch YouTube videos. Tap "Featured" to see a list of videos being promoted by YouTube, or tap "Most Viewed" to see a list of popular videos. Tap "Search," then type a search term, and then tap "Search" to look for videos. Tap the thumbnail of a video to start playing it. Touch the Videos app icon on the home screen to watch videos you downloaded from Apple's iTunes Store. A list of videos appears. Tap the thumbnail of a video to start playing it. Hope this helps.

How to convert videos to play on the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad!!

Your Apple iPod touch, iPhone and iPad all use the same file format to play movie files, MPEG4.
The 2 free utilities that I prefer for converting DVDs or other video files to MPEG4 format and transferring them your iPod via iTunes are DVD Decryptor and Videora. Both can easily be clicked to start your download!!

If this was helpful please rate with a 4 thumbs up!! Thanks for using fixya.com!!

how much space does your touch have? you may not have enough space for the full file and something is getting messed up due to it. that would be my guess based on the included info. can you add some more info?

IPod nano 3g video problem

I believe that something is wrong with the video file you are playing.
remove it from your ipod and try reloading it again.
it sounds like maybe a format problem or just a damaged file.

Audio won't work on my movies!!

For most iPod owners, include you I guess, are not satisfying with only to play common music and videos with your lovely iPod. While there has been many times I heard that people complaining about the issues that some songs not playing with their iPod touch, more specifically, the iTune plays the music, seems to sync and the album cover shows up, but when trying to play it on iPod, the track doesn't play and the progress bar doesn’t move. Some just say that some certain video files can’t play on their iPod. All the problems could be caused by compatibility issue.
There’s a way out. With the help of additional freeware and shareware apps, it's easy to extend your 'iPod's abilities in more ways. iPod video converter is definitely a good choice . Being powerful but easy to use, it enables you to convert all popular audio and video files, such as AVI, MPEG, MOV, MP4, VOB, DivX, XviD, AAC, AC3, MP3 to MPEc,G 4 and H.264 Video that can be playable on iPod family: iPod Touch, iPod Video Nano and of course the new iPod Classic. it also has excellent video editing ability: crop out unwanted subtitles and unnecessary black bars, trim the video by setting the start time and ending time, customize the effect like saturation, contrast, etc,. you can also capture view from the video and store them as jpg,bmp or png.

iPod video converter is suitable for both novice and expert, you don’t have to have previous experience, and you will find just how powerful this program could be .it’s known for fast conversion speed but without video quality loss. Find more specific tools you need to work with your iPod.
