YOu would require proper driver for your screen to have a proper display.

I had the same problem and learned my hardware is not compatible with the current RPE. The screen resolution for the software needs to be higher than the monitor might allow. I had a 12" Posiflex and had to scrap it.

on the rear of your in house monitor you will have a link button. if you press and hold that for about three seconds a small wireless search icon will appear on the bottom of the screen. it should be scrolling up. if it does not connect check the sender unit in the power box. it should flash a red light every 6/18/36 seconds. press the only button on that unit to scroll through these options. mine does disconnect every now and again and i just press the link button and its back. think the wireless internet may be affecting it :)
hope this helps.

Scrolling colored lines on the monitor, overlaying the screen.

You either have extremely screwy drivers, a bad cable or your monitor/panel is shot. Replace any of the above to resolve the issue.

Check your video card drivers are installed correctly.
If unsure, the reinstall them again, it won't hurt the system and there are probably new drivers out for it anyway.

Scroll ring intermittent / non functioal

I have a similar symptom, that is, apparent loss of scroll ring functionality as homercles1 noted, but in fact the scroll ring functionality gets toggled between horizontal scrolling and vertical scrolling as Rithas has noted. A window that is not wide enough to require horizontal scrolling will give the appearance of loss of scroll ring functionality when the scroll ring is in horizontal scroll mode. Likewise, a window that is not tall enough to require vertical scrolling will give the appearance of loss of scroll ring functionality when the scroll ring is in vertical scroll mode.
Solution that worked for me:
My upper right-hand button is defined as "Allow Horizontal Scroll" and by clicking this button, the scroll ring function toggles between horizontal and vertical scrolling. In fact, what can appear to be a nonfunctional scroll ring in some windows is very useful when moving around in large windows.
Hope this comment will be useful to you.
