A new sim card (every network in South Africa) are assigned with a new cell number when you activate the new Sim. However...if you wish to use a number which you have had for years, you can port that number to Telkom (before you activate the new Telkom Sim) Go to any Telkom outlet and ask for a New Sim card. It is free. Give them your number and they will notify you current network of your intention to port to Telkom. What is importand is that you need to have the old Sim in your phone to receive the port confirmation. If not, then the porting to Telkom will be rejected. This is to ensure that people do not illegally port and steal other peoples cell numbers.
I had a similar issue when changing suppliers in the UK. I had to get a PAC code from my old supplier to give to my new one so they could transfer my number over to them. I then discovered that my phone had been locked to my old supplier (the manufacturers auto lock some phones to the first network you use on the handset). Check your phone for a "network locked" message. I used an online unlock site which cost £7.90 and my phone was unlocked within 30mins. The old supplier took 9 days to send me an unlock code. I hope this helps.
To get exact solution to need to specify the mobile model and current network name . Anyway, Free unlock codes are available only for old model Samsung phones. If your is old model then you can get the unlock code from Unlock-Free.com . If your phone is new model then you can get the unlock code for small price from OnlineGSMUnlock.com . There you have to give your Country and current network name along with your IMEI number to get the unlock code.
1.Write down your 2320's IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number. To obtain it, input "*#06#" and (usually) "Send." If this doesn't work, remove your back cover and battery and look at the label underneath. 2.Call your 2320 Classic's old carrier and talk with a customer service representative. Give the representative your IMEI number and ask for the unlock code. You will be denied or your code will be sent to your email address, usually in about three to five days. If you're denied, or can't wait, navigate to one of many unlocking sites to buy one (see Resources). Prices will depend upon your old carrier and whether the former contract was satisfied. It's a legal way to avoid your carrier. 3.Remove your back cover and battery, then remove the old SIM card from its holder under the battery. Leave this empty. 4.Turn your phone on while plugged into outlet power or replace the battery. Enter in the unlock code when requested. Hit "Send." You will be informed whether your 2320C-2B is clear for new service. 5.Activate your new service provider. Simply turn off your phone, remove the battery and place your new SIM card into its holder. Replace the battery and back cover and power on with your new network.
You can go to any Att store and purchase a new sim card. If you explain the situation they may even give you one. They are realitively inexpensive either way. The cell phone company has to program the simcard to your number any way.
you need to call vodafone and ask for a PAC code to transfer number to new network, they will give you a code right away and you then phone the other network with this code, once they get this they will transfer number in about 48 hours
Not sure what you mean? Your number is either stored in your phone book or is being sent by your netowrk provider and if this is the case the number is with your sim, not your phone. if you mean removing your phone number from the phone delete it from the addy book. Else, remove the sim and that should be it!
