does it give you any error message if you try to install it again ,without uninstalling the previous version of norton from the system if you try to install it again it will give you a lot of trouble run this http://www.gur.in/j/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=47&Itemid=58 on the system it removes any norton application tat can be on the system.you will have to restart the system.and then try to install the norton once again do mention the error message if it gives you any

ApprenticeRemove nortons and then pick up the cd and throw it in the bin, best advice i can ever give about Nortons.
