Dell Latitude D610 Default Factory Settings

Hi, I came across this website while, looking for a way to restore my laptop to factory settings. I don't have any of the original cds. I have tried the Ctrl +F11. But it doesn't work. The former owner of the laptop I bought it from, has since moved to another country. But they didn't have any of the cd's either. The computer is working fine, no problems. I just want to erase everything off the computer, and start fresh. Is there a way to do this. My friend bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 from the same person and the Ctrl F11 worked on that. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

I have a used Dell Inspiron 8600 and want to factory reset it and was told to hold Ctrl and F11 at startup to go to the "advanced boot options" menu. Thing is, when I did that it never took me to that menu, it just started the computer as if I hadn't done anything. I know the keys work so that's not the problem. I want to factory reset it, what do I do?

My daughters computer is a dell latitude D610 notebook running Windows XP.....when powering up XP starts to load and then goes to a blank blue screen....Is there a restore disc or something i can download...

Hi. I provided you a link where to download the restore disk. Once you have downloaded the restore disk, here's the instruction on how to use the disk.

Instruction:

  • Backup all the data you want to keep on an external hard drive, flash drive, or rewritable CD. Resetting your Dell to factory defaults will erase all data currently on your computer.

  • 2

Insert the Recovery CD into your CD-ROM.

  • 3

    Reboot your computer.

  • 4

Watch the text in DOS carefully. When prompted to boot from your CD, do so.

  • 5

Choose System Restore and then follow the instructions presented. Once system recovery beings, it may take a few minutes. Once it's done, your system will reboot again.

  • 6

Remove the Recovery CD from your CD-ROM and store it carefully. Your system has been reset to the factory default.

How do i restore my dell latitude c600 to its factory settings

The Dell Latitude C600 is an older Dell laptop computer. This particular model came with Windows XP pre-installed on it. If you are experiencing problems with your computer, or you want a fresh start with your Dell, you can restore the laptop to factory settings. This process removes all of the data saved on your computer and resets all of the settings back to the way they were when you first purchased the computer.

    Instructions:

    Step 1
Turn off your computer if it is currently on.
    Step 2
Turn on your computer. When the Dell splash screen appears, hold down "CTRL" and "F11" on your keyboard. Release both keys at the same time.
    Step 3
Click "Restore" in the "Dell PC Restore by Symantec" window. Click "Confirm" when you are warned that all data will be lost.
    Step 4
Allow the system to restore and wait for the message that says "The system recovery process was successful." This can take about 8 to 10 minutes.
    Step 5
Click the "Finish" button and your Dell Latitude D600 is restored to factory settings.

I assume you mean factory installation. You need the disks. Unless there is a recovery partition, unlikely on this model. Alternatively you could find an oem windows xp home or professional depending on what coa sticker is on the laptop and install that.
