R610 cpu compatibility

Hi Edward,
This depends on the specs of the other mobo. You cannot damage the mobo or CPU by plugging it in and switching on, so the easiest way to test this would be to place it in the other mobo and switch on. If you see a display on-screen it means the processor is compatible with the mobo.
Best wishes,
Graeme.

How can I tell if mobo is bad on Gateway 507GR. Start button blinks, but won't start.

Sounds like you need Clear CMOS jumper block on the motherboard. Use this jumper block to clear the CMOS RAM, which is powered by the onboard real time clock (RTC) button cell battery. Pin 1 is indicated by markings on the board.

Settings:

  • Pins 1 and 2 covered - Normal operation (shown)
  • Pins 2 and 3 covered - Clear CMOS enabled22.jpg

I have an AcerVeriton M264 and I bought a graphics card for it yester day and installed it but all I get when I turn on the pc now is a blank screen with a message that says "over range" I can not do...

What card was in it before?? If none then you havnt switched BIOS from Mobo to AGP / PCI-e whatever the card is you havent stated.

Need more info
What was in it before, If there was a card you have to un-install ALL video drivers BEFORE putting new card in.
You also need to ensure that the mobo specs meet the specs of the new card ie AGP X2,4,8,16 etc.

My mother board is fried

I am not sure what you are asking, but if your mobo is gone, you will need a new one to turn on the computer. The good news is whatever is on your hard drive will not be lost. The bad news is that if your mobo is fried, so is your processor. Check your processor to make sure there are no pins missing or any burn type marks on it. If this is too much for you to do, I suggest taking it to a computer store or buying a new mobo and install it yourself. It is very easy to do. They can range from $100 + for a mobo and then a processor is seperate and depending on the one you need, it may be cheap. Hope this helps. Cheers.

I need to know which Pentium 4 cpu my mobo could take. It has a chipset: Intel 82845Gl Revision B1/ Intel 82801DB ICH4. Would it take an FSB 8oo MgHz and run it at full speeed or would it clock down to...

check your pin packging. if it is 478pin packaging then you can upgrade only to that.
but the current processors use lga775 packaging. check the processor pin packaging before upgrading.

Replace an old mobo

According to Insignia, this case uses a micro-ATX board, so that's what you'll need. You might also want to replace the power supply too. The specs don't say what wattage they supplied, but they're usually pretty undersized in these factory machines. You'll probably need a new hard drive as well, unless you make sure your new mobo has two IDE channels. The original hard drive is parallel IDE and most new uATX boards have only 1 IDE connector but lots of SATA connectors. (A place I like to shop for parts is newegg.com.)

I would like to install more RAM on an evesham desktop PC. There is no tech support now - how do I determine what spec RAM to buy?

You need to check that on the momery installed on your computer or if you can find the brand and model of your motherboard(mobo) you can find what memory you need by going to the manual of the mobo (you can go to the mobo's website and check the manual, it will list the compatible memory module fo your mobo).
