Nuvi routes to destination are too long

my nuvi 200 takes scenic routes to get me to my destinations. a ride that should not take more than 1 hour, will take me almost twice as long. What can I do? At this pint, I'd rather use mapquest

ApprenticePerhaps it is set to Pedestrian Mode instead of Automobile Mode. This can be changed in the settings.
