    L42 won't power up!

Same here - remote is dead; I tried to turn it on manually - dead, too. But the yellow (standby ?) indicator is on, so it seems to have power supply.

    hello,
anyone have a solution yet to the tv not turning on??? mine just stopped working last night. standby "vizo" light turns on so i know there is power but screen is just blank.

  • Anonymous Jul 06, 2008

Mine won't turn on either. There's nothing wrong with our power supply. I'm not sure how this is a solution.

Ours did the same thing 3 days ago. We turned it off when we went to bed and when we got up it wouldn't come on. The yellow light is on, but the screen stays blank. The warranty just expired, wouldn't ya know. Technical Support asked me to try the "old standby", turn it off, wait a minute and turn back on, but it didn't work. Their only other suggestion was to call a certified Vizio repair service.

My tv is a year old and it started 6 months ago to do weird things. It would come on but only the sound would work and not the picture, it was just a black screen. We turned it off and then on again and then it would be fine. This happened a few times. Now today we turned it on, a few seconds of working then went black, now it won't turn on. The yellow light does not come on either. This sounds a little different then the other's problems, does anyone know what I can do?

  • herbola Jan 16, 2009

I have a very similar problem. When you press the on botton, the power indicator turns from yellow to green, but the screen and sound never come up. After 5 or 6 seconds the indicator returns to yellow.

My L32 is about 4 years old and after 2 years the screen would randomly go blank but the sound was still there. Typically within 10 seconds it would be back to normal. Again it went blank but this time it didn't come back on. Brought it to a TV repair and they said it was the "main light" powering the LCD... so I'm tearing into it and found that I can get the normal looking screen for 8-10 seconds then the power goes back to stand-by. I can repeat this brief operation over and over again. I ordered a new main board (3320-0032-0150) based on some of the posted solutions. Was this the right action?

8 days ago my Vizio 32Lhdtv10A made a loud pop (gunshot loud) and went off and would not come back on. Even the standby power light was out. After reading some of these posts I took the back off and saw a charred black area and apparently a blown resistor/transistor on the power supply board. I ordered a new one using the part number on the board (0500-0507-0180) but was sent a different part (0500-0502-0102). The part supplier says these are interchangeable parts but the tv still won't come on or show even standby power. Any suggestions?

my vizio 42" will click on but just to a blue screen that says NO SIGNAL, then it proceeds to turn off by itself

You need to send that particular part back and insist on the original one that goes to your tv . Be firm about what you want. Your television was not made with "interchangeable" parts. Also look at the other components around that charred area and see if there are any others that might need changing

I bought my 42" plasma Vizio 17 days ago and this problem just happened to me. We were watching and it just went off and it won't come back on. The tv clearly has power as the yellow light is on, but this tv simply won't come on. I called Walmart to verify I could return (I can) and they said they have two others that were returned sitting in back. I imagine this is going to force Vizio to do something soon, I can only imagine how many of these things are going to start failing in the years to come.

Ck u33 on main board part number 1117 reg. ic

Had same problem. Replace main board and now works just fine. You need to take the back off and under the metal cover in the center of the tv is the main board. The part number should start with 3320-xxxx-xxxx. Don't get confused the power board is on the right side and the interverter is on the left side. You can purchase the board from Vance Baldwin. vancebaldwin.com sign in as a guest. I will warn you the cost of the board is high.

I solved it long time ago - just unplugged it for a minute... Though this model doesn't seem a happy one - my sound sucks.

My TV won't come on

Hello Linda,

The set will need to be diagnosed to find the problem. There could be an issue with the power supply or main board but get it checked out.

My tv dont want to turn on

Check power connections. Try different power outlet.

If it simply wont do anything,. you will need to contact Vizio. It is possible the tv has simply fried itself.

I have a Vizio hdtv 32'' lcd the power button is yellow, when I turn the tv on the button turns green but thats all that happens no pic or sound the model is Vizio L32HDTV 10A

I would guess the power supply went bad. The Vizio parts store sells the replacement for $82. Cheap fix for a decent TV.

Replacing it only requires a moderate mechanical skill. Removing the screws from the case is the hardest part. Remember to unplug the TV before you attempt this repair, or contact a local repair shop. They may only charge a small fee to install it for you.

No Power to a Vizio VX32L

My best guess is to check for blown fuses or the power board when bad inside the TV.
If that doesn't work, looks like you'll have to pay a repair shop to find out what's really going on.
Sorry I can't help you further.

Try a new Remote control, and if that doesn't fix the problem, it may be a remote sensor in the set. Hope this helps. Have a great weekend
