Question about Epson TM-U220 Matrix Printer
I installed a TM-220 printer but on the printer and faxes page it shows ' Not Available'
I cannot print.
Print the self-test, push the feed botton while powering on...
you can see there the serial interface...
baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bit etc...
then go to the printer and faxes,
right click the epson driver and click properties...
go to the ports window...
click on the epson tm u220 reciept.
click configure port...
adjust the baud rate as same as in the self test...

It will solve the printing issue but you wont be able to have automatic paper-cut and automatic open drawer

The Epson TM-U220 Receipt printer uses a Windows Generic driver, not an APD driver or anyother. If you install anyother driver, chances are, you'll end up with it not printing and showing a status of NOT AVAILABLE or USER INTERVENTION REQUIRED. So to get it to work, follow these steps of installing the Generic Driver
1. Uninstall any APD or other drivers you had tried to use for the printer
2. Click on add a printer in Printers and Faxes (XP)
3. Go thru the Wizard, installing it as a Local Printer and choosing COM1 Serial Port and when it comes to choosing the manufacturer and model of the printer, select GENERIC as the manufacturer and GENERIC /TEXT ONLY as the printer, finish up with the remainder of steps in the wizard
4. Print a test page..........and that's it
It should print without any problems
