Trying to transfer video from camcorder (JVC GR-D270) to a Mac. (Video was originally created in Windows MovieMaker.) Burned to a disc, but the Mac won't read it as a video. It puts it in Text Edit and I see mumbo-jumbo.
Tried connecting camcorder to computer via firewire - nothing happened.
    Tried USB - nothing.
Tried transferring tape to memory card in camcorder. This only gives me individual still images of the video when I try to transfer onto Mac.
    What to do?
    Thanks.

Firewire is the only way to do it unless you have a machine running Windows 98 as those are the only drivers available for this camera.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Good luck!

JVC GR-DVP7 - Video to PC / Firewire Cable ... where can I get one?

Best Buy has a 6 pin to 4 pin firewire cable. You will need some software as well to copy to the hard drive such as Pinnacle Studio if you don't have on already.

Once the cable is plugged in and turned on Studio will detect the camera and run the program.
