Question about HTC Touch P3450 Smartphone

3 Answers

My phone keeps switching off and I can`t explain what causes it to do so. Also, I have problems getting it to switch back on. I would love an answer to this, otherwise my HTC Touch will end up going to the bin.

I have the identical problem. I've been nursing it along for 3 weeks now. Popping the battery in and out to reset the phone. I've also tried 'hard' resetting the software numerous times.

I'm in mainland China and the dealers here won't repair it b/c it's a Hong Kong phone.

At this point I've gone to carrying a cheapo backup phone for when this goes power off on me. Pleco is on the storage card so I can do a full reset away from home and still use my dictionary.

    Any ideas are welcome.

I have the same problem - sometimes when I switch it on, it displays alarms.... vibrates the alarm...but doesn't stop...just keeps vibrating and freezing on that, if its not doing that its just simply turning off... then trying to turn it back on I either get a weird bright orange splash screen (almost as if its trying to display the normal 'orange network' screen), or freezing, or just not going on at all. taking the battery out several times occasionally does it.

how do you hard reset this? or does anyone have a solution?

After over a month of trying to get HTC to respond to this problem as a support question on their website, I have taken my HTC Touch back to MediaMarkt (Mataro, Barcelona, Spain) where I originally purchased it and they sent it to be "fixed" - after 30 days they called to say it was repaired and could I collect it - all the service people did was a hard reset and reinstall the software - within hours (and with only switching the phone on - not installing anything), the PROBLEM HAD RETURNED.

IF ANYONE AT HTC IS READING THESE STRINGS, THEN I SUGGEST THAT YOU AIM TO GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED AS I THINK YOUR SERVICE STINKS - BOTH WEB AND SERVICE CENTRES.

My nokia 3110c phone restarts 2 to 3 times....n then it gets switch off

Hi!

There are many solutions for this issue, please check and try the one that applies. Make sure you back up any data before proceeding.

- Keep the free space between 350 to 500 KB, so as to keep things running smoothly on your phone and prevent Nokia 3110c from restarting.

- Don't get your phone loaded with too many themes downloaded from the internet or atleast, don't switch themes frequently. These themes, mind you, also load up things into your already falling Nokia 3110c phone memory.

- Remove the card, get it formatted and then insert it back and then restore factory settings. This just might solve the issue.

- Don't try updating of music library frequently or don't often transfer data in/out of your Nokia 3110c phone.

GoodLuck!

My voice drops out on palm treo 650

Sorry, no solution - just some added info. I have the same problem with a Palm Centro. Changed sim card (O2) but no improvement. Palm eventually replaced Centro, but fault persists. Anyone with similar problems / solutions?

The phone is not switching on bb8703e

Had the same problem. Charge your battery overnight. Then remove your battery. Then put it back in. See if it powers up. Just keep doing this removal/replacing. Sometimes you may get a battery image with a slash through it. Sometimes you just get a dark screen. Keep doing it and it may come back to life.

If it does, get all of your information copied. Because it will happen again. And eventually, the above fix is ineffective.

Good luck

Phone doesn't switch on

This shouldn't normally cause a problem.
Make sure the cover is setaed correctly. It may have switch that checks the cover is back on.
Else take the battery out and put it back, ensuring correct poalrity. The battery contacts must line up with the pins on the other side..normally you can't put battery in the worng way. Let nme know the result.

My viewty keeps switching it self on and off

I have just had the same problem. i was so scared that i had lost all my personal data.
my sim card was years old and as the software on the lg is new it was causing it to shut down and reboot over and over and the only way to stop it was to take out the battery.

This MIGHT help! it helped me.
Take the battery out and put someone else's sim card in (someone who has a new sim card) - they have to be the same network. (if your own sim is really new this may not help) .

put the LG back together and switch on - the phone should start new set up. if it prompts you to copy contacts to phone press no.

if this works then it is a software problem. this may be the best time to back up all your data on your computer via the lg suit.

then put your own sim back in. if the problem still happens then you need to call your phone service provider and get them to refresh your sim card - do the same process as above and this should fix it.

i hope this helps.

8525 Keeps going from Landscape to portrait for no reason

the switch is actually caused by a magnet, automatic switching can be caused by the sliding screen becoming loose. one of the most common causes of the screen auto-switching is using a phone holder with a magnetic flap like many new holders have instead of a velcro flap.

maybe this is happening to you?

Treo 650 Problem

probably dodgy software conflict. Try taking battery out and leaving for anhour or two then take out sim carrier. Put battery back and see if it starts properly. If not looping put sim in and try to switch phone on. if this works then there is a problem with software you have loaded so switch off back up before you sync. Then once you have synched the phone add back applications one at a time until you find the one that causes the problem. Of course you have to do it all over again once you have found the culprit!

Another cause, if you have attempted to upgrade the firmware, is a failure of the upgrade process. if you can't get this to work I am afraid the phone is bricked and needs to go back to Palm for repair.
