    what is the boot?

  • Anonymous Jun 14, 2008

We wiped down the "boot" of our front loader, but still gave the black marks

Not on all the clothes. It almost seems like it happens in the spin cycle

washing has black marks on it which looks like oil or grease. I have put the washer on a boil wash with soda crystals - cleaned the boot as you call it and it still gives me clothes with black marks on them after a wash.

I have the same problem. However, I have top load washer. I've had a service guy check it out and he just scratched his head. I feel like I have disposible clothes anymore. The thing is if I buy a new washer and it still happens then I just spent a lot of money for nothing...I want to make sure that this problem is that washer.

Is you machine a top loader or front loader? if its a front loader the black marks could be from the boot. WIpe the boot with a good cleaner. and try not to over load machine. and if it a top loader your transmission is probably leaking oil back into clothes tub. You could have it rebuilt $$$ or better replace the machine.

We call it a boot even though it doesnt look like a boot at all sorry,

Its the rubber flexible piece that goes from the front panel to inner basket. The door seals against it.

I assume you have a frontloader? this boot maybe black, or gray in color.

Again if you overload you machine, your wash items will rub up against this boot and leave black marks. Use a liquid dishwashing detergent like Dawn and some elbow grease and the marks should come out, unless of course the item is damaged

OIL STAIN ON A CLOTHES out of washing machine E12477

Are they getting the oil stain from the washing machine? If so, you need to get a tech out to inspect your washing machine. If you are putting oily clothes into the washing machine hoping it will come out, it's too late, you need to pre-wash with Shout or Tide to remove oils and grease. The more you wash and dry it the deeper the stain will set. Sounds like you need to throw those clothes away.

I get black marks like a crayon or ink line on certain light colored shirts after washing my clothes. Not sure if it's coming from washer or dryer. I use a stain remover and it's not coming out completely.

is the black marks grease look under the bottom of the machine and look on the side walls of the machine if u have a line of grease around both sides then you would need to change the transimission on the machine if it is not grease and you determine that is pen u might try looking in between the two baskets. And lastly ihave seen pen cartriges enlodge inside the pump which does cause the pen to leak hope this helps

Black grease spots on clothes after the wash I have a simpson espirit 750 washing machine

Hi just read your posting. Are you 100% sure the black marks are grease or oil?If you are then the only place the oil comes from is the gearbox. This means that to repair this fault you need a new gearbox.Unfortunately the repair is not cheap so I would recommend getting a service tech out to confirm.Every time I went to a customers house and I saw this problem then I would tell them the same thing.Once again sorry for the bad news and please reply if you need any more help or advice.Good luck.

Oil marks on my clothes after washing

It could be an indication that the main bearings are failing, or it could be an effect known as grease balling.
This is caused by washing at too low a temperature, or not using enough powder, or using the wrong type of powder.
If it is the bearings, then I would expect it to be getting noisy, particularly on the spin cycle.
Hope this helps.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Gray marks on light colored clothes

That is exactly what it is, grease. It is coming from the transmission past a worn or defective seal usually the transmission will have to be replaced.

Marks on clothes

Hi. Souds like an Effect called ****. Usually caused by not using enough powder, or washing at too low a temperature. You should do a boil wash at least once a month with powder in but no clothes in. It is called maintenance wash. Always wash at the recommended temp on the wash care label. Good luck

LG washing machine repair

hiya
is it a rumbling noise? if so it may be the drum bearings are in need of replacing. two tell tale signs are
1, check clothes for any black speckles, as this is a clear indication that the bearing seal is worn and that oil and grease from the bearings are entering the wash tub.

2, whilst the drum is empty see if there is any movement in the drum, the easiest way is to place four fingers inside the lip of the drum and place your thumb on the door seal and pull it towards you in an up and down motion. if there is any movement then the bearings need replaced.

hope this helps
