"Insert Imaging unit"

Not sure what this is? does it mean the toner?? and do i have to buy a new one or is there a quick fix?

Be sure the toner cartridge and drum assembly are seated properly. Also check that the paper path is clear and un-obstructed which may cause some electrical contacts from being made. If in doubt remove the toner and drum assemblies and firmly reseat them. "imaging unit" may refer to the optical assembly the printer uses to expose the drum, these units are typically fixed in place and cannot be removed, it may also refer to the drum assembly sometimes separate from the toner cartridge. Again, make sure the metal connections are clean and the toner/drum cartridges are firmly seated.

How do I reset ms610 imaging unit?

When you get the error message "Replace imaging unit, 0 estimated pgs remain [84.3x]" This means the imaging unit has reached end of life and needs to be replaced. The device will not print, and this message will not be cleared, unless you replace it with part number 50F0Z00
(or 500z)
Vertical streaking. If the imaging unit is near end of life, or the device has had problems with non standard toner, vertical streaks may occur on the page. Replacing the imaging unit will resolve the problem.
Vertical streaks on page
Vertical band at top of page. This typically appears on printed images, but can also appear on text. The most likely cause is toner contamination on the charge roll, however if the band is still visible after printing 30-40 continuous pages this means the imaging unit needs to be replaced.

Seal failure on the imaging unit. Occasionally seal leaks have been seen from the Imaging Unit.
Toner will be seen on the main frame near the Imaging Unit sides.
If toner build up is excessive, it may even fall into the Tray below. Cleanup with a toner vacuum may be needed.

Solution : Replace the Imaging Unit CAUTION: Do not use warm water or cleaning solvents to remove Toner (Dry Ink) from your skin or clothing. This will set the Toner and make it difficult to remove. If any Toner gets on your skin or clothing, use a brush to remove the Toner, blow it off, or wash it off with cold water and mild soap.
Do not drop or shake the Imaging Unit after it has been removed from the printer as Toner spills can occur.
Do not expose the Imaging Unit to any light source for more than five minutes. Prolonged exposure to light may damage the unit. Cover the Imaging Unit with a light shield (such as a sheet of paper). Do not touch the shiny blue Transfer Belt.
  1. Power OFF the printer using the power switch located on the left side of the printer, toward the back. Press the power switch to the OFF (O) position.

  2. Press the button on the top right side of the printer to open the Front Cover.

  3. Locate the Imaging Unit, and then turn the four twist-locks to the left to unlock the unit.

  4. Grasp the Imaging Unit by its peach-colored pull-tabs on the top edge. Pull the unit forward and up, and then out of the printer.

  5. Place the used Imaging Unit in a bag and make sure the bag is properly sealed before discarding or recycling.
  6. Remove the new Imaging Unit from the shipping container and the sealed package.

    CAUTION: Do not remove the orange protective cover from the front of the unit until it has been installed in the printer. This will protect the Transfer Belt from being touched during installation.
  7. Place the Imaging Unit on a flat surface. Hold the unit firmly with one hand and with the other hand grasp the end tab of one sealing tape and pull the tape straight out, horizontally. Repeat for the remaining tapes; there are eight tapes in total. Make sure none of the tapes have broken. Discard of the tapes as normal office waste.

    NOTE: If any tape breaks off with the remainder inside the Imaging Unit, stop the installation and contact Support.
  8. Grasp the new Imaging Unit by its peach-colored pull-tabs on the top edge and install the unit in the printer. Make sure to insert the unit into the guides in the printer, and then push the unit all the way back into the printer.

  9. Turn the four twist-locks to the right, to lock the unit.
  10. Pull the orange protective cover out and then down from the top, center of the Imaging Unit.
  11. Close the Front Cover.
  12. Power ON (') the printer. A 'Ready to Print' message will be displayed on the Display Screen.

When printing or copying middle of the page is blank or lighter than side of the page

If your printer prints with faded image like the black in this picture.
The problem most likely is due to toner build up on the developer blades in the imaging unit. This is a very common problem with this particular make of printer. There are two solutions, one expensive and the other some of your time and patience. The expensive route is to buy a new imaging unit for $100+ and it will reoccur again.

The other route is to open your imaging unit and clean the developer blade(s) yourself. I have a detailed instructions in my tips section, or you can find it by clicking on this link.

Toner problem

From the symptoms that you described, the problem lies with your imaging unit, specifically the developer blades are blocked with toner deposits. It is a common problem with this printer. It can be fixed by two ways. The first and most expensive is to buy a new imaging unit at your local office supply store for $100+. It will fix it until the toner deposits build up again and starts to fade the output.

The second way, is to open the imaging unit and clean the developer blades of the toner deposits. I have written a detailed instructions so you can do the work yourself and save yourself some money. The instructions are posted here.

Error code C0F32

This error means Imaging Unit ATDC (automatic toner density control) failure. Open and close the right side door where the imaging unit is. If the code comes back you are going to need Imaging Unit service or possible Imaging Unit replacement. The best option and the cheapest is to locate a new imaging unit and replace it yourself. These units are very easy to change and similar to replaceing a toner cartridge in any laser printer. Just do a search for Di200 Imaging Unit.

Iam trying to down load our airline tickets .i have replaced my black toner, but when i print out our tickets thay are so faint as to be unusable for presentation to airline check in

If your printer print faintly, and your toners are not low, the problem lies with the imaging unit. What happens as the printer is used, a film of toner builds up on the developer/toner blades. This build up starts to block the toner that ultimately makes the image on the paper.

This can be fixed one of two ways. You can buy a new imaging unit for around $100+ but, eventually the film of toner will build up again and they you can buy another one. Or you can take your imaging unit apart and clean the developer blade(s) and you will be good to go. It will take about 20 to 40 minutes the first time you do it. I have instructions on how to do this in my Tips section.

Black printing faded although toner not low

metering blade is gunked up. You need to dissasemble part of the imaging unit to fix the problem. Clean it. put it back together and BINGO! Like new. Do this before throwing money into buying a new imaging unit.. You can thank me when this works

BizHub C252 - error Code C-2555 (Malfunction Detected)

C-2555 relates to a low toner density in the yellow imaging unit. I'm sure your daughter pressing buttons did not cause it.
I suggest you release the yellow imaging unit (the bottow row of units)
Just realease and pull it out a little way. Then switch the machine on with the door open. It won't start, but will ask you to shut the front door. Reseat the yellow imaging unit and shut the door. The machine should go in to a stabilization mode and then work.
However, if it comes back, I suspect a new yellow imaging unit will be required.

HI, I have a clp-300 and it is printing black only on the right side, but the left is completely washed out. it works fine when I use a color other than black

If you the image is faded and your toner supply is good, the problem is the developer blades in the imaging unit. During the normal use of the printer, there is a buildup of toner that sticks on the developer blade. The developer blade meters the amount of toner that gets to the drum that ultimately makes it to the paper. As the toner buildup increases on the blade, less and less toner that gets to the drum cause the image to fade.

To fix this problem you will need to disassemble the imaging unit and clean the blades or buy a new imaging unit. I have clean my blades and I have a document to show you if you are handy.

c 7980 is a warning that the waste toner container on the imaging unit is full, This usually means the life of the imaging unit is finished or close to being finished. If u dont want to replace it yet, a quick way is just to empty it. on the left and right of the unit at the back you will see 2 screws take those out then remove the small covers and just poor the toner out(DONT BLOW INTO THE UNIT). put tje covers back on, clear off any spilt toner and put the unit back into the machine
