Question about D-Link DFE-538TX Network Adapter

1 Answer

My on board ethernet adapter has malfunctioned. So now, I have installed a DFE-528TX Dlink PCI adapter to on of its slots. I have installed the driver properly but when I connect the cable to the card. It says connected but when I ping to other PC's its not on the network.

You may have to remove the old Local Area Connection from windows, and resetup the network to use the new card. Bar that, if you remember your old IP address on your private network, you could setup the new Nic's IP address to the old IP address.

I have 2 DFE-528TX PCI Adapter but I dont know how to install on my PC. On my PC there are 2 PCI slots. Please help me to solve my problem. Thanks.

These are Ethernet adapters for networking, they simply plug into ANY PCI slot, and then you must install the Drivers, and any software that comes with them... than they can be used.. You would NOT usually install TWO unless you had some special purpose..Like spanning different networks etc All about card below.

As you already know, the adpater has been discontinued, but D-Link has the drivers online for OS's thru XP. Follow this link, choose the tab on the right "Support Resources" and you will find the drivers. While this is for the 500TX, it will work for the 528TX.
