Cd Code need code for am fm / CD /cassett player purchased at junk yard out of a 2000 Suburban and putting it into my 2010 Chevy Colorado which has only basic am / fm radio? How do I get past "locked"...

That is a security "feature" on GM radios to deter theft. The following instructions has had sucess with other GM vehicles. If not, only a dealer has the equipment to get past lock screen.

This works on vettes with theftlock. Try it on the tahoe and let us know....

The following procedure will give you a new code that you can use instead of your personal code. Using this new code, you can "unlock" your radio and then "re-lock" it with a new code if you wish. Prerequisites: The radio must be in LOC mode NOT in INOP mode. Let me explain. If you have activated the Theft-Deterrent feature of your radio and loose power, the radio goes
into LOC (theftlock) mode. With the ignition on, you must use the MN and HR buttons to enter you personal code in order to unlock it (The instructions are on page 3-27 in your Y2K Owner's manual). If you fail to enter the correct code eight (8) times, the radio goes into INOP
mode. You have to wait an hour with the ignition on before the radio returns to LOC mode (go for a long drive somewhere).

Procedure: 01. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)

02. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 buttons for six seconds

03. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. Don't take forever, fifteen seconds max before the next step.

04. Press the AM/FM button

05. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one.

06. You now have a six-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 03 and the last three digits are form STEP 05

07. Call 1 800 537 5140

08. Press 1 then # (pound). You'll hear "Invalid Code, try again"

09. Press 139010 then # (pound). You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by * (start)

10. Enter the number from STEP 6 then * (star)

11. Listen to the four-digit number and write it down. It will be repeated twice

12. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)

13. Use the MN and HR buttons to enter the code from STEP 11

14. Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to SEC Your radio is now "un-locked" and usable. The Theft-Deterrent feature is STILL active! If you want to disable it, use the instruction on page 3-27 in your Y2K Owner's manual. Use the code from STEP 11 instead of your personal code. Note: This tip originated from LOTZAHP, Austin TX (credit must be given where credit is due). I verified it on an Y2K C5 with a locked radio - mine.

I put a lock code now I forgot. It and cantget in my phone.

Messages & Display Issues: The display on my phone reads "Locked" or "Keyguard"

  • If you see the word "Keyguard" on the display of your Kyocera phone, you may have activated the keyguard feature. Press button below "Keyguard," then press 123 or the "OK" key to unlock the Keyguard feature. The phone will display "Keyguard Disabled."
  • Some Kyocera phones also have the phone lock feature available. If the phone lock was activated, the default lock code is 0-0-0-0 (4 zeros). When your handset is programmed with a mobile number by your Mobile Service Provider, the default lock code will change to the last 4-digits of your mobile number. To change your handset lock code, you must go to the Security menu, then select Menu > Settings > Security > Current 4-digit lock code.

The safety lock is enabled and I am unable to turn this off. I am also unable to navigate to an address or favorites. It is also on the wrong time zone.

The safety lock is active only while the device is moving. When you stop, you can access all buttons again. To switch off the feature,
    • Tap the map display to go to the device main menu
    • Tap "Change Preferences"
    • The TomTom XL device hides many menu options by default. If you can see an icon "Show ALL menu options", tap this one next. It should show as "Show fewer menu options" now.
    • Locate the icon "Safety Preferences" (a red heart on blue background) and tap it. This will allow you to deactivate the safety lock feature.
    • You may want to hide the lesser used menu options again.
In order to set the time properly:
    • Tap the clock button to set the time and to change the way the time is displayed.
    • The easiest way to set the time is by tapping the Sync button. Your ONE XL will then take the time from the GPS information it receives.
    • After using Sync to set the time, you may have to adjust the hours depending on your time zone. Your ONE XL works out your time zone and always keeps the time correct using the GPS information.
    • You can only use Sync if you have GPS reception, so you cannot set the clock in this way when you are indoors.

    NEED UPDATES

Yes, you can get SOME updates for free... indefinetely.

You will need the latest version of TomTom Home software, available for free from www.tomtom.com.

Install the software on your computer BEFORE connecting the TomTom GPC to the USB port of the computer.

The free updates you can get are:

    1) "QuickFix" updates. This contains the global positions of GPS satellites, allowing the TomTom GPS to get a faster lock on the GPS satellites (the GPS will get a lock within 5-10 seconds of being turned on, instead of 2-5 minutes on some other GPS brands). It is suggested that you update the QuickFix at least once a week. If you don't do it often, the GPS will just take longer to find the GPS satellites, that's all.

    2) Minor updates to your map(s), but only the ones submitted by other TomTom users.

    3) Updates to POIs (Points of Interest), such as new stores, malls, gas stations, parking lots, etc.

    Whole-map updates ARE NOT FREE
