Downloads i can not get any downloads on my computer ,i have windows vista basic

If you would like to restore the pc back to factory settings, I suggest you use your recovery disks that would have been received with the PC or you would have created as part of the setting up process. If you do not have these then you would have to buy the software online or via a software retailer. There is no place online that you can legitimately download for free.

If your computer is a brand-name PC, then a sticker with your license number (known as a COA or Certificate Of Authenticity) should be attached somewhere on the computer.

If you don't have the COA attached to the computer, restoring the computer using the manufacturer's CD/DVD's will restore Windows to an activated state.

There might be a Desktop Management Interface (DMI) compatibility problem with Windows 7 and the Acer T180 Vista Basic DMI. The Acer support Windows 7 eligible systems link shows all the Acer computers that are fully compatible with windows 7. (Acer T180 is NOT in this list !):

If you have a legitimate copy of Vista, the product key is located on a sticker attached to their funky packaging. If you bought a downloadable copy, you should have received a confirmation e-mail that contains your product key. Otherwise, you will need to contact Microsoft to have them help you straighen out the situation.

After you install Windows Vista on a computer that uses an SiI Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment (PATA) chip from Silicon Image, the computer does not recognize an attached optical drive as a drive that supports recording. Therefore, you cannot use the computer to burn CDs or DVDs.
